QRYTEXT:TIMMONS: I am researching Charles TIMMONS born 12 January 1751 in Scotland or
Ireland. He served in the Revolutionary War from Hanover, York County with Col. Hugh
Campbell's Company, Second Battallion of Minute men, 1776. He paid taxes in Mt. Joy,
now Adams County, Pa. married Mary Magdelena FORNEY, daughter of Abraham FORNEY in
Frederick County Md. 9 November 1793. In Md Census, Emmitsburg 1800, in Martinsburgh
WVA in 1810 then removed to Cadiz, Harrison Co. Ohio and I can take it from there.
Died in 1819. Our family history has always assumed he was Irish. Why would an
Irishman marry a German Girl, live in a German part of the County? I think he may be
German. Can you help? Amarshalll@aol.com

QRYTEXT:Margaret MESSENCOPE was born in Hagerstown, MD. about 1789-1795. Her full
name, as found in a RINE family Bible, [one of Margaret's daughters, Caroline,
married Isaac RINE] may have been: Alpenia Fredrica Margaret MECKENCUP In about 1819,
she married John MARTIN, possibly in Hagerstown although they lived in Belmont Co.
OH, then Guernsey, Muskingum and Licking counties, OH. It is not known whether this
was Margaret's first marriage. However, family records show only the eight children
born in 1819 and later, [Margaret and John's children], so she either had no children
by 1818 or, if previously married, did not bring any of those offspring with her to
the new family after marrying John MARTIN. I'm seeking her other family members in
Washington Co., probably in the Hagerstown vicinity.

Elizabeth's sister Fanny, and her husband Martin STOCKMAN. Ludwick was a cooper and
most likely had a shop in Hagerstown, or at least worked in one. I am trying to find
the identity of Ludwick's parents. Ludwick was born between 1765 and 1770, but I'm
not sure in Maryland. His parents were probably immigrant Germans. Any info on the
SNYDER/SNIDER/SCHNEIDER Family and any aspect of the previously mentioned families
would be greatly appreciated.
