BOGALUSA - Funeral arrangements have been completed for Shelby Magee, age
58,
who died on December 27, 1999 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in
Covington.  He was a native and former resident of Franklinton.
    Visitation will be tomorrow at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in
    Franklinton from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service on Friday
    at 1 p.m.  Elder Raymond Dyson will officiate.
    He is survived by two sisters, Mary "Lulu" (Emile) Favaroth and
    Patricia "Trish" John D.) Cotton, both of Franklinton; an uncle,
    Marshal Magee of Franklinton; his common law wife, Juanita Thompson,
    Bogalusa; a special friend, Johnny Miller, Franklinton and a host of
    special cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

JOHN H. MILLER
Died December 30, 1999

CHALMETTE - Funeral services for John H. Miller, 78, a former resident of
Bogalusa, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Annunciation Catholic Church
in Bogalusa, with Father Lawrence Phelps officiating.
    Rosary is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. tomorrow.
    Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery, Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home
    directing.
    Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday at Annunciation Catholic
    Church.
    Mr. Miller died Dec. 30, 1999 at his residence in Chalmette.
    A veteran of World War II and past commander of American Legion Post
    24, Mr. Miller was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was
    retired from Crown Zellerbach.
    Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Miller, and a
    special friend, Doris Calabresi.
    He is survived by a number of cousins and friends.

MRS. LUCY POUNDS
Died December 30, 1999

BOGALUSA - Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Pounds, 74, a resident of
Bogalusa, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home
chapel, the Revs. Lonnie Thompson and Lynn Martin officiating.
    Burial will follow in Lee's Creek Baptist Church cemetery, Poole-
    Ritchie Funeral Home directing.
    Visitation was Saturday from 5-9 p.m., and continues today after 9 a.m.
    until the time of the services.
    Mrs. Pounds died Dec. 30, 1999 at Bogalusa Community Medical Center.
    Mrs. Pounds was preceded in death by a brother, T. M. Stafford.
    Survivors include her husband, J. L. Pounds, Bogalusa; a sister and
    brother-in-law, Eulene and Malcolm "Doodle" McMillan, Bogalusa, and a
    number of nieces and nephews.

SARAH IDALZIE SEAL RESTER

BOGALUSA - Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Idalzie Seal Rester, 85, a
native of Mississippi and a longtime resident of Bogalusa, are scheduled
for 11 a.m. Monday at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home chapel, the Rev. Gene

    Visitation is from 5-10 p.m. today and continues after 9 a.m. tomorrow.

    Mrs. Rester died Dec. 31, 1999 at Bogalusa Community Medical Center.
    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Strahan, her
    second husband, Jewel Rester, a grandson, Chris Killens, and a son-in-
    law, Alcus Davis.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Junior Ray (Francis Strahan)
    Killens, Crossroads, Miss. and Fredine Strahan Davis, Bogalusa; one
    step daughter, Donna Strahan Ard, Bogalusa; a sister, Julia Mitchell,
    Bogalusa; four grandchildren, Mrs. Stephen (Karen Davis) Jenkins,
    Folsom, La., Mrs. Wade (Regina Killens) Taylor, Bend, O., Ricky Killens
    and his wife Lisa, Crossroads, Miss., Charlotte Davis Leonard,
    Bogalusa; eight great-grandchildren, Mrs. John (Letecia Lorio) Rhodes,
    Crossroads, Miss., Cory and Karissa Jackson, Bend, O., Blake Jackson,
    Poplarville, Miss., Kody and Kaleb Killens, Crossroads, Miss., and
    Chris and Kailee Leonard, Bogalusa; two great great-grandchildren,

    She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Wilda Rester, and a
    special friend, Shirley Bailey.

    Jesse Seal, Junior Seal and Cecil Ray Farr, all nephews of the
    deceased.

STEPHEN L. RICHARDSON
Died December 31, 1999

FRANKLINTON - Funeral services for Stephen L. Richardson, 66, a resident of
Franklinton, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Centenary United Methodist
Church with the Revs. Michael Simmons and Charles Floyd Jr. officiating.
    Burial will follow in the Ellis Cemetery, Crain Funeral Home directing.
    Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home and
    continues after 9 a.m. Monday at Centenary United Methodist Church
    until the time of the services.
    Mr. Richardson died Dec. 31, 1999 in the St. Tammany Hospital in
    Covington.
    A graduate of Louisiana Tech University and a longtime Franklinton
    businessman, Mr. Richardson was a veteran of the United States Army,
    serving in the Korean conflict.
    Mr. Richardson served on the Franklinton Board of Aldermen and was an
    active member of the Franklinton Volunteer Fire Department for many
    years, serving as assistant chief and chief.
    He served on the original board of the Washington Parish Hospital
    District 1 (Riverside Medical Center) and was retired as maintenance
    superintendent of Riverside Medical Center.
    Mr. Richardson, a member of Centenary Methodist Church, was employed at
    Ace Hardware in Franklinton at the time of his death.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Katherine
    Richardson, and a sister, Anita Magee.
    Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Stewart Richardson,
    Franklinton; a daughter and son-on-law, Kay and Kelvin McCain,
    Franklinton; a son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Stacey Richardson,
    Franklinton; a sister, Joan Simmons, Kentwood; four grandchildren,
    Stephen Lee McCain, Conner McCain, Mary Kate Richardson and Peyton
    Richardson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

JOHN ESPER WALTERS
Died December 31, 1999

BOGALUSA - Funeral services for John Esper Walters, 87, a resident of
Bogalusa, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in the Brown-McGehee Funeral Home
chapel, the Rev. Ed Jenkins officiating.
    Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today and continues after 10 a.m. Monday
    until the time of the services.
    Burial follows in Hillview Memorial Gardens in Bogalusa, Brown-McGehee
    Funeral Home directing.
    Mr. Walters died Dec. 31, 1999 at Bogalusa Community Medical Center.
    A member of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Mr. Walters was a United
    States Navy veteran, serving in World War II.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Donese Walters and
    Ernestine Brooks Walters Bennett.
    Survivors include several cousins and a host of friends.

MRS. CLARA S. CHRISMOND
Died January 1, 2000

ZACHARY - Funeral services for Clara S. Chrismond, 98, a resident of
Zachary, are scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow.
    Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary
    and will continue tomorrow after 9 a.m. until the time of services.
    Burial will be in Azalea Rest Cemetery.
    She was a retired school teacher with the Bogalusa school district and
    was an active member of Zachary United Methodist Church and Phenie
    Williams church circle.  She was also a member of Zachary Garden Club.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Lon Chrismond and a daughter,
    Faye
Lindsey.
    Survivors include a sister, Beatrice Douglas, Greenfield, Miss.; a
    brother, Billy Simpson, Slaughter; three nephews, Harold Douglas, Dr.
    Joe Leigh Simpson and Freddie Simpson; six nieces, Rachel Ann Norris,
    Betty Upchurch, Velma Kilpatrick, Winifred Simpson, Jeannie Farmer and
    Linda Young.

RENA HALL

BOGALUSA - Rena Hall, age 80, died Saturday in the Bogalusa Community
Medical Center.
    Visitation will be today from 4:30 to 10 p.m. at Brown-McGehee Funeral
    Home and will continue at 8 a.m. tomorrow until time of services in the
    chapel at 12 noon.  The Rev. Ester Hammond will officiate.  Interment
    will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
    She is survived by three sons, David Hall, Willard Hall and Harvey Hall
    all of Bogalusa; four daughters, Betty Hall, Bogalusa, Delores Spears,
    Tylertown, Toni Ritchie, Bogalusa and Theresa Talley, Sun; a brother,
    Tony Ramirez, Bogalusa; a sister, Viola Rester, Bogalusa.
    She was preceded in death by a son, James Hall.

Community Medical Center.

BOGALUSA - The funeral service for Willie B. McKelphin, age 69, a resident
of Bogalusa, is scheduled at noon Saturday at Crain and Sons Funeral Home,
with the Rev. James Cyrus officiating.
    Burial will follow in the Bogalusa Cemeter.
    Visitation will be held Saturday from 10-11 a.m. until time for the
    final service.
    Mr. McKelphin died Saturday in the Bogalusa Community Medical Center.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hosea (Etta)
    McKelphin; granddaughter, Jacqueline Denise Payne; and grandson,
    Kercuant Devon McKelphin.
    Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Sylvester) Williams,

    Home Memorial Park Cemetery in Franklinton.
    The Dickey Brothers Funeral Home of Biloxi, MS is in charge of

    Ms. Thompson died Saturday at Chateau Deville Nursing Home in
    Pascagoula, MS.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thompson and two
    daughters, Mayfus Johnson and Betty Dyson.

HATTIESBURG - Lois Foulks, age 82, died yesterday at Convarest Nursing Home
in Hattiesburg.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Magnolia Baptist
Church in Hattiesburg.

    Home in Tylertown.  The funeral service will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at

CURTIS STANFORD SUMRALL

BOGALUSA - Curtis Stanford Sumrall, age 61, died yesterday at St. Tammany
Parish Hospital in Covington.  He was a member of Lee's Creek Baptist
Church, Center Lodge No. 244, F&AM, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the
Louisiana National Guard, and a retired Captain for the Bogalusa Fire
Department.
    Visitation will be today at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5-10 p.m.,
    with Masonic rites at 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue tomorrow at 8
    a.m. until time for the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at
    11 a.m.  The Rev. Lonnie Thompson and the Rev. Rupert Breland will
    officiate.  Interment will follow in the Nobles Cemetery in Pine.
    He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae DeLaughter Sumrall, Bogalusa; a
    son, William Stanford Sumrall, Bogalusa; a daughter, Shan S. Miley,
    Bogalusa; two sisters, Dorothy Sumrall McGinnis, Plaquemine and Carolyn

    Ms. Jefferson died Tuesday in Dixon Medical Center, Covington.
    She was born to the late Clev and Emma Bolton on March 8, 1933 in
    Bogalusa.
    She was known for her warmness and generosity.  She took in many family
    members and friends when times were hard.
    She was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Harden and Rose Marie
    Hall; and a son, Robert Craft.
    Survivors include three sons, Fred R. "Wonder" Jefferson, Dallas, TX,
    Brandon Jefferson and Kareem Jefferson, both of Bogalusa; a daughter,
    Emma D. (Jerry) Ward, Bogalusa, two sisters, Ruby Montgomery, Bogalusa

BUSH - Ella Hayes Williams, age 76, died yesterday.  She was a native of
Arm, MS and a resident of Bush.

    She is survived by her husband, Huey "P.L." Williams; two daughters,
    MaryKay W. Stump and Judy W. Cannon; two sons, James Haynes and Joseph

Hilltop Community.  She was a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist
Church and a retired employee at the Angie Junior High School Cafeteria.
    She is survived by her husband, Harold Forbes, Hilltop; three sons and
    a daughter-in-law, Leroy Forbes, Ricky and Annette Forbes, all of
    Hilltop and Lavon Forbes, Bogalusa; two daughters and a son-in-law,
    Lois and Chuck Bailey, Denham Springs, and Janice Forbes, Chauvin, LA;
    two step-sons, Harold Forbes Jr. and Roger Forbes both of Carriere, MS;
    two brothers, Leonard Seals and Clifford Seals of Hilltop; two sisters,
    Evie Ard and Bessie Ree Ard, both of Hilltop; seven grandchildren, four
    great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a sistser, Athalee Tynes.

FRANKLINTON - The funeral service for Clemon Louise Laird Griffith, 89, a
resident of Plainview, will be tomorrow in the Brown-McGehee Funeral Home

    officiate, with burial following in the Plainview Baptist Church
    cemetery.
    Visitation will be today from 4-10 p.m. at the funeral home, continuing

    Mrs. Griffith died early yesterday in Good Samaritan Nursing Home in
    Franklinton.
    A member of Plainview Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her
    husband, Charles Curtis Griffith; a daughter, Shirley Jones; three
    grandchildren; her parents, Lee and Alice Laird; and a brother, Victor
    Lee Laird.
    She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Charles "Sonny" Griffith,
    Saraland, AL and Rodney E. Griffith, Bogalusa; three daughters, Helen
    Edwards and Virginia Adams, both of Bogalusa and Beverly Hall of
    Ripley, WV; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

ANGIE - Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Foster, 69, a resident of Angie,
are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Center Baptist Church in Angie with
the Rev. Sidney Jones officiating.

    Burial will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery, Cook-Richmond Funeral Home

    Mrs. Foster, who died Thursday in the Bogalusa Community Medical
    Center, was the daughter of the late Shelby Williams and Willie Mae
    Richardson.  She was born on Feb. 6, 1930 in Angie.  She was united in
    marriage to the late Rev. Aaron Crawford, and from this union, five
    children were born.  In 1991, she was reunited in marriage to Robert
    Foster.
    She joined the Center Baptist Church at an early age and accepted
    Christ as her Lord and Savior.  Later moving to Bogalusa, she joined
    the Sweet Beulah Baptist Church.  Her dedication and faithful service
    to the church included her role as choir member, member of Pastor Aide
    Club, member of the Missionary Society.  At anytime day or night, if
    the phone rang, she was always there to comfort and offer her services.
    She was a strong Christian Soldier who touched the lives of many people
    and she will be dearly missed by all.  Later in life she rejoined the
    Center Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Linwood
    Bolton where she served as a faithful member until her health failed.
    Survivors include her husband, Robert Foster, a son, Shelby Peters,
    Bogalusa; four daughters, Jo Ann (Walter) Singleton, Monticello, MS,
    Lille B. Crawford, Picayune, Erica L. Crawford, Bogalusa and Tanya N.
    Crawford, Angie; a brother, Henry Jefferson, Angie; a sister, Lena
    Magee, Bogalusa; six grand-
children, Rick, Antonio, Christopher, Damon, Bria, and Erin; four great-
great grandchildren; two special god-children, Edna E. Magee, Picayune and
Elenora Raymond, Bogalusa; two step-children, Aaron Crawford Jr. and
Luretha Dixon both of Stonewall, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Celma,
J.D. and Curtis Williams, and a sister, Beatrice Tyson.

VARNADO - The funeral service for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Pope Seal, 74, a
resident of Varnado, is scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Poole-Ritchie

    Burial will follow in Seal Cemetery at Varnado with Poole-Ritchie

    Mrs. Seal, who died yesterday at 7:24 p.m. in the LSU Washington-St.
    Tammany Regional Medical Center, was the daughter of Willie and Bessie
    Boone Pope, born Aug. 22, 1925 in Angie.  She was a member of the First
    Missionary Baptist Church of Varnado and a member and Past Worthy
    Matron of Pushepatappa Chapter No. 239, Order of the Eastern Star.
    She was married to Leroy "Slick" Seal on March 15, 1941.  Of this union
    four children were born.
    Mrs. Seal co-owned with her husband the Community Grocery Store in
    Varnado for many years.  After she closed the store, she worked for the
    Meals on Wheels delivering lunches to the elderly.  She was always
    known to have food on her table for anyone who stopped by her house and
    was always willing to help those less fortunate in the community.
    Mrs. Seal was a loving mother and wife.  The last several years of her
    life was a testimony to her determination.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Bessie Boone Pope;
    two brothers, William Pope and James Edward Pope.
    Survivors include her husband, Leroy "Slick" Seal, who cared for her
    during her lengthy illness; four children, Eathel Seal, Stanley Seal,
    Randy "Country" Seal and James Roy Seal; three daughters-in-law, Linda
    Thomas Seal, Sheila Brennan Seal and Donna Gerald Seal; 14
    grandchildren, Kevin (Laura) Lawson, Tren Lawson (Jason) Garbo, Dean

    of duty in Vietnam and, following retirement from the military, served
    as a deputy for the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Gertrude Crain

    Mr. Crain died yesterday in Clinton, LA.
    He was a retired cattleman, Farm Bureau insurance agent and owner and
    operator of Crain Feed Service.  He faced these last days with courage
    and determination in the face of adversity.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Monroe Crain and Ludie
    Tynes Crain Luper; stepfather, Willis Luper; a brother, S. L. "Lavert"
    Crain; and a step-brother, Ray Luper.
    Survivors include his wife, Jerri Burch Crain; a son and daughter-in-
    law, Patrick J. "Pat" and Betty Clark Crain; grandchildren, Domielle C.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Funeral services for Mr. Lewie Gates, 72, a native of
Bogalusa and a resident of Glynn County, Ga. for the past 12 years, is

    Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Palmetto Cemetery,

    Mr. Gates died Jan. 14, 2000 at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical
    Center in
Brunswick, Ga.
    Mr. Gates came to Georgia 12 years ago from Gulfport, Miss.  He was
    retired from the United States Air Force, serving in both the Korean
    Conflict and Vietnam War.
    He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gates, Brunswick, Ga.; four
    daughters, Connie Fox, Gulfport, Miss., Carlene Kinstle, Debbie Smith
    and Darlene Guy, all residents of Brunswick, Ga.; three sons, Jimmy
    Gates, Saucier, Miss., and Johnny Gates and Larry Gates, both residents
    of Gulfport, Miss.; 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and

    Church and the Franklinton's Garden Club and Quilter's Club.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto Purcell and Ina Renfro
    Knight; two brothers, Otto Knight and L. C. Knight and a sister, Melba
    Hutsell.
    Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Derry H. "Buddy" and
    Andria M. Clancy Jr., David M. and Nicole S. Clancy, all of Eureka
    Springs, AR; a brother, Wayne Knight, Franklinton; two sisters, Olean

Wednesday shortly after their premature births in the University of
Connecticut Medical Center.
    Besides their parents, they are survived by maternal grandparents,
    Clarice and Doug Fitzgerald of Varnado; maternal great-grandmother,
    Helen Gibbons of Varnado; and paternal grandmother, Sue Brody of
    Teaneck, N.J.
    They are also the grandchildren of the late Jimmie Lang and the late
    Arthur Brody.

    Mr. Ward died Sunday in Detroit.  He was born Aug. 26, 1946 in
    Bogalusa.  Reared in Bogalusa, he graduated from Central Memorial High
    School and attended Grambling State University and graduated from Ford
    University, majoring in Hydraulic engineering.  He was an employee of
    Ford Motor Company for the past 34 years.
    He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie and
    Willie Bell Crawford, and a loyal brother, Harris Gregory Crawford.

    Bogalusa Community Medical Center.

BOGALUSA - Mrs. Elma Tynes Zwilling, a retired school teacher, 81 years of
age,
passed away yesterday in Covington.
    The wake will be Friday evening Jan. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the
    services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.
    Her pastor, the Rev. Stephen Teal of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church,
    will conduct the services.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Zwilling Sr.; a son,
    Walter Zwilling Jr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Tynes; three
    sisters and three brothers.
    She is survived by a sister, Bobbie Brooks of Gulfport, four nieces,
    nine nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
    She graduated from Southern Mississippi and always said she would like
    to be a student all the time because she liked to learn something new
    every day.  This was evident of the many organizations she belonged to
    and the many hours she spent in each one.
    Here are just a few:  Senior Citizens with her church, American Legion
    Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, the Garden Club, which was especially was
    enjoyable to her as she could get the school children involved to help
    Bogalusa become the Cleanest City for several years, helping the
    children to become better citizens; the Retired Teachers' organization,
    and she was honored as Teacher of the Year.
    She taught Sunday School several years and was active in her church
    until her death.  She also worked with the Credit Union, and she and
    her family enjoyed many trips with a camping club that took them all
    over the United States.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Carson Springs
    Baptist Building Fund in care of Douglas Ray Turnage, Route 2, Sandy
    Hook, MS 39478 or a favorite charity.
    This is the church where she became a Christian at an early age, and
    where she will be laid to rest with her husband, son, mother, father,
    two sisters and one brother.
    She always said for family and friends not to grieve for her but to
    rejoice as she was with her family in heaven.

    the Rev. Stephen Teal of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church, will conduct
    the services.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Zwilling Sr.; a son,
    Walter Zwilling Jr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Tynes; three
    sisters and three brothers.
    She is survived by a sister, Bobbie Brooks of Gulfport, four nieces,
    nine nephews and many great-nieces and great nephews.
    She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and always
    said she would like to be a student all the time because she liked to
    learn something new every day.  This was evident by the many
    organizations she belonged to and the many hours she spent in each one.
    Here are just a few:  Senior Citizens with her church, American Legion
    Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, the Garden Club, which was especially
    enjoyable to her as she could get the school children involved to help
    Bogalusa become the Cleanest City for several years, helping the
    children to become better citizens; the Retired Teachers' organization,
    and she was also honored as Teacher of the Year.
    She taught Sunday School several years and was active in her church
    until her death.
    She also worked with the Credit Union, and she and her family enjoyed
    many trips with a camping club that took them all over the United
    States.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to
    Carson Springs Baptist Building Fund in care of Douglas Ray Turnage,
    Route 2, Sandy Hook, MS 399478, or a favorite charity.
    This is the church where she became a Christian at an early age, and
    where she will be laid to rest with her husband, son, mother, father,
    two sisters and one brother.
    She always said for family and friends not to grieve for her but to
    rejoice as she was with her family in heaven.

FRANKLINTON - The funeral service for Cheryl Nielson Schilling, 41, a
resident of the Mt. Pisgah community, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in the
chapel of Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton.  The Rev. Ed. Jenkins, the
Rev. Ed Griffin and the Rev. Denny Brumfield will officiate.
    Visitation is from 6-10 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home, continuing

    Mrs. Schilling died at 1 p.m. yesterday at her residence.
    Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Otho Schilling, Jr., Mt. Pisgah
    community; two sons, Brandon Schilling and Cole Schilling, both of Mt.
    Pisgah; her mother and father, Willie J. and Jean Roberts Nielson,
    Franklinton; two brothers, Russell Nielson and Bruce Nielson,
    Franklinton; and her grandmother, Susie Nielson, Franklinton.

MILDRED WARREN SCOBEL

FRANKLINTON - The funeral service for Mildren Warren Scobel, 83, is
scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow in the chapel of Crain Funeral Home of
Franklinton, the Rev. Karl Tingle officiating.
    Visitation will be after 9 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home,
    continuing until time for the funeral service.
    A graveside service will be also held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Westlawn
    Mausoleum in New Orleans.
    Ms. Scobel died yesterday at 5 p.m. at her residence in Baton Rouge.
    She was a longtime resident of Gretna and a retired secretary for Lykes
    Brothers Steamship.
    Survivors include two sons, Buddy Wood, Franklinton and William P.
    Pitre of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Delores Ann Gill, Long Beach, CA; a
    sister, Marie Kliesch, Orange, TX; 12 grandchildren and seven great-
    grandchildren.

    Mrs. Fisher died Jan. 28, 2000 at her residence, 1730 Main St. in

    Known to a multitude of friends and relatives as Granny,Mrs. Fisher
    devoted
her early life to her husband and children and was a godly influence on her
grandchildren and their families.  In 1970 she worked as a nurses aide at
River-
side Medical Center.
    She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday
    School
Class.
    Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Fisher; her
parents, Frank and Bertha Carter; a sister, Winnie C. Adams, and three
brothers,
T. O. Carter, Floyd Carter and Robert Carter.
    Survivors include three daughters, Mildred (Mrs. Robert K.) Lewis,
    DeRidder,
La., Yvonne (Mrs. Carey L.) Phares and Jeanette (Mrs. Billy G.) Sylvest,

residents of Franklinton; one sister, Sadie C. Bennett, Bogalusa; a

    Mrs. Dunaway died Saturday at 6 p.m. at Columbia Lakeview Regional

Center in Covington, following a lengthy illness.
    Employed as a nurse before her retirement, Mrs. Dunaway worked at

ton-St. Tammany Regional Medical Center, Bogalusa Medical Center, Desporte
Clinic and also as a private duty nurse.
    She was a member of both the Elizabeth Sullivan United Methodist Church
    in
Bogalusa and its Evergreen Club.
    Mrs. Dunaway will be sadly missed by her family and many members of the
Community,especially those belonging to the Italian-American club and those
Involved in her sewing circle.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Oveid Dunaway, Sr.; her
