Jules LeBlanc, Sr., Confederate Veteran Is Claimed By Death.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, at the St. Mary 
Magdalene Catholic church here for Jules LeBlanc, Sr., 93 year-old Confederate 
Army Veteran who died at his home in Vermilion parish Sunday afternoon at 5 
o'clock of a heart attack.

Mr. LeBlanc was a native of St. Martin parish, having moved to Vermilion half a 
century ago to engage in farming.

Surviving Mr. LeBlanc are his widow, twelve children, 91 grandchildren and 129 
great-grandchildren. Mr. LeBlanc was twice married, his first wife nee Helene 
Allemand having died several years ago.

Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his second wife, nee Azena Stelly; eight children 
from his first wife, including three daughters, Mrs. Theogene Bertrand of 
Vermilion, Mrs. Emile Johnson of St. Martin, and Mrs. Vincent Savoy of St. 
Martin; and five sons, Felix of St. Martin, Jules, Jr., of Vermilion, Emile and 
Joseph of St. Martin, and Edgar of Lafayette. Also surviving are four sons from 
his second wife, Morris, Stelly, Zenon and Alta, all of Vermilion parish.

Four children from Mr. Stelly's first wife have been claimed by death including 
Edward, Mrs. Anatole Thibodeaux; Edgar and Edmond.

Burial was in the Catholic cemetery in Abbeville.

The funeral services were conducted by the Reverend Edmund Daull, pastor.

The pallbearers were Felix, Emile, Joseph, Maurice, Jules, and Edgar LeBlanc, 
sons of the deceased.
