DEATH CLAIMS PHILBERT DUHON.

(Special to the Advertiser)

ABBEVILLE, Jan. 20 - Funeral services were held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic 
church here for Philbert Duhon, 55, a resident of Vermilion parish, who died 
Friday afternoon at 2:15 following a heart attack.

A resident of Vermilion parish all his life, Mr. Duhon was first a farmer, then 
the owner of a store and recently the owner of a dance hall between Abbeville 
and Maurice, famous for its old time dances.

Mr. Duhon is survived by his widow, nee Alice Touchet and five children 
including Mrs. J. Hargrave of Cow Island, Miss Edna Duhon of Lake Charles, Mr. 
Walter J., Alfred and Tere Duhon of Abbeville. His widow by former marriage, nee 
Emethilde Suire of Abbeville, also survives.

The pallbearers were J. Hargrave, Villemen Romero, Hebert Hargrave, Rosemond 
Touchet, Alfred Duhon and Patout Palombo.

Interment was in the new Catholic cemetery.
