Yes this is the same "Salvator" MOUTON, father of Alexander

to be an ancestor of yours!! Please contact me if you have any more

Cool. That means you are also descended from Pierre Vincent. Father to
Jean Baptiste. I don't have any information on his siblings. But I did
find this in the Lafayette Daily Advertiser.
Pierre Vincent crossed the Atlantic on Le Beaumont, which sailed up the
Mississippi on August 19, 1785. Le Beaumont was the third of seven ships
taking Acadians from France to Louisiana. He first married Agnes
Broussard, but she died shortly after the marriage. He then married
Catherine Galmond and had nine children with her. They originally settled
at the intersection of the Vermilion River and Bayou Que de Tortue.

Lafayette Daily Advertiser)
I would love to get any information you have.

I descend from Maximillien, Jean Baptiste's brother! I dont like to open
GED files, maybe I dont do it right but every time I do I "lose" my files
and have to retreive them from my diskettes or the backup in puter. It's
such a hassle that I dont accept GEDfiles anymore. Going to see what I
have on your family. I love meeting new cousins!

Author: Virginia Ashley Date: 16 Oct 2001 12:31 AM
I went to the library today and found this:
Aglace Landry daughter of Joseph Bazile Landry & Genevieve Bodin
(Baudin?). ( Joseph and Genevieve m. 24. Oct. 1814)
Aglae (this is how it is spelled in another place)was baptized on 20 Feb,
1831 in Lafayette, LA.
My records show Ursin VIncent m. to Adelaide Landry.
I could find no record of their marriage in Rev. Hebert's books at the
library. Of course I didnt have a lot of time but I looked through 1860 or
around there.
Now, I have the Landry family in another branch of my tree. I have Basile
Landry m. to Marie Anne Mire on 3 oct. 1786.
They have a child named Marguerite Carmelite Landry b. 1834 who m. Joseph
Hebert on 15 Jan. 1828.
You may email me if you like, we can discuss this more if you want.

 Re: My Prejeans
Author: Peggy Prejean Case Date: 27 Aug 2001 5:24 PM
I am a Prejean who grew up in Port Arthur. Our line is the same through
Armand (Amand?). I have Dominique as the first child by Amand and his
second wife Marie Theriot. I am descended through Amand and his first wife
Marie Magdeline Martin and their son Joseph (3rd child, b 1759). From
there my pedigree follows Edouard (b 1789), Edouard Ursin (b 1815), Don
Louis (b 1848), Joseph O'Neill (b 1878), Romain (b 1906).
Mouton is another of my family names. I begin (questionably) with Johanne
Mouton, who immigrated to Acadia in 1685. My next name is Salvador Mouton,
b 1735. From there my line follows Marin (b 1758), Sylvester (b 1802),
Valery (b 1852), Mathilde (b 1879), Romain (b 1906). Mathilde married
Joseph O'Neill Prejean in Abbeville. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi Peggy!
You can visit my website at www.prejean.ws. It has genealogical info on
all the Prejean's I could find.
Since the creation of the site I have received more information from
Prejean "cousins" that I have not added yet. If you'd like to send me info
about your family I will gladly include it when I update the site in a few
weeks.

We follow the same line through Edouard Prejean (b 1789); however, my info
has Adre Valerian (12th child of 15) born in 1832. Also, I have the
birthdate of Jean dit le Briton as abt 1641 and his immigration to Acadia
in 1671 and his marriage to Andree Savoie in 1680. (Considering this
marriage date, his birthdate in 1651 sounds correct.) Any assistance would
be appreciated!

 Re: Mouton Relatives
Author: Peggy Prejean Case Date: 27 Aug 2001 4:51 PM
I cannot find any of the names you mention in my file; however, I am a
descendant of the Mouton line. My grandmother was Mathilde Mouton (m
O'Neil Prejean), b 1879, daughter of Valery Mouton (son of Sylvester,
etc.). Mathilde grew up in Abbeville and was married there, so there
probably is a connection.

and thought I would respond. Within my information I have an Augustine
Fevergeon, who married Cleopha Harrington. Cleopha was born around 1863
and married Augustine on 8/20/1883. My records indicate they had 8
children between 1884 and 1905. Their names were Eleonore, Marie Laure,
Rose Ida, Raoul, Lucy Amiee Hilda, Paula, Cecile, Renold Waldo. I have
some further information on the spouses and marriages of these children,
but no documentation of their children. Since this is not my primary line,
I don't have much detailed research, just things I have collected along
the way.
Please let me know there is anything in particular you are looking

 Broussard Help
Author: Mary Alice Hunter Date: 21 Jan 2001 12:00 PM
  Surnames: Broussard, Prejean, Hebert
I do not have Victor Broussard, Helene Hebert, Elizabeth Broussard or
Arcisse Prejean. But do not dispare! I went to the Mormon website (I am
not of that faith but the website is free to anyone) and could not find
them there either. That only means that no one else has uploaded their
genealogies...yet. If you have not visited that website, you can at
www.familysearch.com. Then click on the Search tab at the top of the page
and follow the instructions on that page. And bookmark that site. I have
been able to confirm as second references some of my relatives. And also
find some others.
There are other websites you might visit also: www.cyndislist.com,
www.ancestry.com, www.rootsweb.com are some more. Cyndislist has alot of
Acadian sites to look at.
I am still looking for my elusive gr-grandfather Henry Newman, though, and
am hoping someone somewhere can help me there.
I printed your information on the above names so I can continue to look
for them.
Good luck,
Mary Alice

So I come from Amand Damon Prejean 2 ways...
I was born in Lake Charles but grew up in Houston. My Cajun grandparents
are still alive and living in Lake Charles.

Currently, I'm concentrating on my Broussard line - which, unfortunately,

from Elizabeth Broussard to my sister.

 Stelly/Monteau Children ?
Author: Derrellyn Yates Date: 18 Jan 2001 12:00 PM
  Surnames: STELLY, MONTEAU, VINCENT, BROUSSARD
The records of the marriages listed below state that Pierre Villere
Monteau and Josephine Stelly were the parents of Azelie and Dupreville
Monteau (see below).
Azelie Monteau m. 21 July 1874 Joseph Broussard (Abbeville Ch.: v.2, p.9)
Dupreville Monteau m. 12 May 1874 Azelia Vincent (Abbeville Ch.: v.2, p.7)
I found these marriages listed in Father Hebert's books and am curious as
to whether anyone out there has any proof or corrections or further
information as it was once disputed by a contributor here that Pierre
Villere & Josephine Stelly ever married.
All information gratefully received.
