She is survived by one son, Henry Blanchard Jr.; one daughter, Azema Blanchard Daigle; 18
grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Blanchard Sr.; her parents, Azema Daigle and
Felix Fryou Sr.; four sons, Nolan, Leroy, Roland and Mervin Blanchard; two daughters, Luly
Blanchard and Rosmary Blanchard Richard; nine brothers, Pete, Clarivil, Luke, Clarence,
Wilbert, Orion, John, Felix and Louis Fryou; and two sisters, Edith F. Solar and Agnes F.

Richard and Felix Delaune Jr.; and two sisters, Mable Loupe and Maude Curole.

He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.
3665 in Raceland.

grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Julian D. Hebert Sr., and Lindsey and
Minnie L. Chauvin.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and a parishioner of St. Anthon
y Catholic Church.

She was a member of the Busy Bees ladies organization and a parishioner of St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lillie Morgan Aitkens; two brothers, Mack

Washington, Alice A. White, Lillie A. Jackson, Gladys A. Viel and Hazel A. Hawkins.

He was a retired tire repairman for Patterson Truck Line after 38 years, a U.S. A
rmy veteran, a
deacon, a member of the Trustee Board, chairman of the Building Committee, president of the
Beautifying Club and a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church.

Aitkens began his annual Christmas toy giveaway 13 years ago with bicycles he collected and
repaired at his home. The Aitkens family and members of his church plan to continue the program
in his name.

In 1995, Aitkens was honored as Terrebonne's Most Useful Citizen.

She was ordained Assemblies of God minister, and she was an evangelist and home missionary in
Kentucky. She served as a pastoral minister. She was the editor of Slant religious publication,
a writer and contributing editor for Pentecostal Evangel and was the founding editor of Women's
Touch magazine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alban Matherne; her parents, Ernest and Rose Marie

Trahan, all of Houma; one brother, Dale Bergeron of Houma; one sister, Myra Redmond of Houma;
and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Thelma Giroir Bergeron; her grandparents,
Joseph and Vivian Giroir, and James and Celestine Bergeron; and one brother, Lee Bergeron.

She was a retired school bus driver for Terrebonne Parish School Board after 18 years and a
parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Thomasville, Ga.;
 one daughter, Darlene Southall Lee of Thibodaux; five brothers, Philip and
James Every, both of Thibodaux, Lloyd and Ronald Every, both of Marrero, and Arthur Thomas
Every of Atlanta, Ga.; and seven sisters, Irene Harris and Yvonne E. Johnson, both of
Thibodaux, Ella Narcisse, Barbara Grow and Rose Domino, all of Vacherie, Dianna Pierre of
Edgard, and Ann Johnson of Gray.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mae Southall; his father, Lloyd "Baby" Every Sr.;
and one grandchild, not named.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion Post No. 513 in Thibodaux and a
member of St. Paul Baptist Church.

DeCarlo, Lena Rivet, Margaret Trippi, Mildred Arabie, Pauline Arabie, Bridget Caillouet and
Bernadette Caillouet; and one grandson, Carl St. Romain.

She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church and a member of the Terrebonne
Parish Council on Aging.

Malcolm Anthony "Jack" Meyn, 84, a native of New Orleans and resident of Thibodaux, died at 9
a.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999.

Thibodaux. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Veeder Meyn of Thibodaux; four sons, Malcolm Meyn Jr.,
M.D., J.D., of Cincinnati, Ohio
; Gerald Thomas Meyn of Philadelphia, Pa., Donald Frederick Meyn
of Mandeville, and Kenneth John Meyn of Kenner; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Judith Ann) Weimer
of Thibodaux, and Mrs. Steve (Kathleen Veeder) Newton of Evansville, Ind.; 19 grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Nicholas and Edna Louise Korhrumpf Meyn.

He was employed by Pittsburgh Testing Laboratory of Pennsylvania for 26 years. He was the first
president and chairman of the board of Delta Testing and Inspection, Inc. He was a charter
member of the Louisiana State Nuclear Energy Board.

He was active for over 30 years with the Boy Scouts of America, a life member of the Knights of
Columbus Council No. 2925 of New Orleans, a member of the Bayou Industrial Group and past
president of the Bayou Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association.

He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Williams Batiste and Ernest Batiste Sr.; four
brothers, Dudley, John, Edward and Herbert Batiste; and one sister, Enola Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Murph

She was a student at Grand Caillou Middle School and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic

She was a schoolteacher for more than 40 years, a religion teacher at Our Lady of the Rosary

Short and Elizabeth Hartman, all of Houma; 47 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 12
great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. Hartman Sr.; her mother, Elizabeth Nevers
Lagarde; her father, Taylor Lagarde; he
r stepmother, Ida P. Lagarde; two brothers, Sterling
King Sr. and Alfred Lagarde Sr.; one sister, Leola Lagarde Dennis; one grandson, Gregory
Hartman; and one great-grandson, Devon Gibbs.

She was a member of Residence Baptist Church, a member of the Senior Choir, a member of the
Order of Eastern Star J.J. Clement Chapter No. 15 and a member and president of the Women's
Uplift Society.

Kirby A. Naquin, 59, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29,
1999.

Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Green Oaks Memorial
Park Cemetery in Baton Rouge. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Benoit Naquin; one son, Gary
Naquin; two daughters, Lisa Naquin and Gwen N. Tiner; one sister, Phyllis N. LeBlanc; and three
grandchildren.

M.C. Perry


 M.C. Perry, a well-known media, political and advertising consultant in the Houma area, died
 Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, after a fight with cancer. He was 67.

Perry wrote for many years on special assignment for The Courier. He also was a host of a
popular classical music program and covered spot news for local radio. For 19 years, he
broadcast live election returns for several radio stations in the Houma-Thibodaux area.

In 1983, Perry and his family opened Perry Flying Center, a fixed-base operation at the Harry
P. Williams Airport in Patterson. Perry was a licensed pilot for more than 30 ye
ars.

He served as president of the flying company until his retirement at the end of 1998. However,
he remained active in the business as chairman of the board. His son, Ken, now runs the
company.

"While all of us are deeply saddened by my father's passing, I know of no better legacy than to
continue to operate Perry Flying Center for many years to come," Ken Perry said.

Perry was born in Port Allen on Sept. 13, 1932. 

After graduating from high school in Iota, he enlisted in the Louisiana National Guard. With
the onset of the Korean War, he transferred to the U.S. Air Force. He was assigned to a B-29
Superfortress bomber. After the military, Perry returned to college and became a high school
teacher. He taught in schools in Louisiana and Virginia. He was a lifetime certified teacher
and guidance counselor in both states.

Perry also was a consultant for a major school textbook publisher. He traveled the southwestern
United States and Guam, lecturing educators on English, literature, composition and the social
sciences.

Visitation will be from 7 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin
Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Hope World Outreach Center on Coteau Road,
with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Joycelyn Perry of Houma; on
e son, Kenneth Paul Perry of Patterson;
two daughters, Ellen Perry Benson of Shreveport, and Margaret Perry Tarpley of Alexandria; two
brothers, Richard Flynn Perry of Downsville, and Robert Terrance Perry of Hyattsville, Md.; one
sister, Patricia Perry Andrus of Austin, Texas; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Margaret O'Dillon Perry and M.C. Perry Sr.
