Leroy Joseph Adams, 28, a native and resident of Gibson, died a
t 2:30
a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1999.
Visitation was scheduled from 8 a.m. to funeral time today at
Patrick Catholic Church in Gibson.
A prayer service was scheduled for 4p.m. today at the church, with burial
in the church cemetery. A memorial service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the
church.
He is survived by his parents, W. J. and Alberta B. Adams of Gibson, and
Ronnie and Emelda Lightsey of Patterson; five brothers, Warren "Boo" and Aaron
Adams, and Louis, Waylon and Ronnie Lightsey Jr.; two sisters, Cindy Guillory
and Bobbie Bourgeois; four nephews; three nieces; and one great-nephew.
He was a 1988 graduate of H. L Bourgeois High School, a graduateof
Nicholls State University and an employee of Copeland's.
FLORENCE BONVILLAIN
Florence Mary Price Bonvillain, 56, a native of New Orleans and resident
of Houma, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1999.
Visitation will befrom 4 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time
Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at noon Saturday at
the funeral home, with interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
She is survived by her former husband, Donald Bonvillain Sr. of
Houma; two sons, Wayne and Donald Bonvillain Jr., both of Houma; one
daughter, Charmaine Labat of New Iberia; three brothe

Price, both of Houma, and Edward Price of Montegut :five sisters, Pearl
Bonvillain, Jeanette Savoie and Alta Bergeron, all of Houma, Betty Gros of
Schriever, and Mary Ann Bergeron of Galliano; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Camelia Samanie
Price.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
DALLAS CALLAHAN
Dallas "Cadick" Callahan, 76, a native of Houma and resident of Bayou
Blue, died at 4:25 P.M. Wednesday, March 31, 1999.
Visitation will be from 2 to 10 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home and
from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue,
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in
Magnolia Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Madelle Duet Callahan; four daughters, Mrs.
Paul (Maybelle) Degruise Jr., Mrs. Leroy (Pat) Degruise, Mrs. Bobby (Linda)
Marcel and Mrs. Jerry (Peggy) Roger; nine grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley "Bill" and Agnes
Boudloche Callahan; his stepmother, Julia LeBlanc Callahan; and one
step-brother, Harold Toups.
He was a retired employee of Texaco, a member of the Bayou Blue Senior
Citizens, a U.S. Army
World War II veteran and a parishioner of St Louis
Catholic Church.

Annie Mae Duplantis Hebert, 75, a native and resident of Houma, died at
8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1999.
Visitation will be from 5 today to 10 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to funeral time
Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday
at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park
Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis John Hebert Sr.; one son, Curtis J.
Hebert Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Metairie; one daughter, Mrs. Emmett (Lynn Ann)
Averett of Ruston; one brother, Rannie Duplantis Sr. of Chauvin; five
grand-children; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke Jean B. and Annie
Malbrough Duplantis; three brothers, Duffy "Bill", Dalton and Herbert
Duplantis Sr.; and four sisters, Dussie D. Hebert, Bessie D. Prosperie, Lizzie
D. Smith and Blanche D. Sanders.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

Harry Wayne Kebodeaux, 40, a native of Crowley and resident of Houma,
died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1999.

Narville and Adelene Lormand Kebodeaux of Crowley; his grandmother, Ella M.
Kebodeaux of Crowley; two sons, Bradley Wayne and Philip Michael Kebodeaux,
both of Houma; two brothers, Joseph and Larry Kebodeaux, both of Crowley; and
three sisters, Virginia Gayle Becnel of Austin, Texas, Linda Ancelet of Rayne,
and Sally Walsh of Crowley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John
and Emma S. Lormand, and Louis Kebodeaux
He was an offshore service representative of Survival Systems
International and a member of Church of Christ.

Velma Barker Keller, 66, a native of Edinburgh, Ind., and resident of
Vidor, Texas, died at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 1999.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in
Edinburgh. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home,
with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
She is survived by four sons, William Keller of Vidor, Wendell Keller of
Houma, Daniel Keller of Bourg, and David Keller of Montegut; six brothers

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Keller, her parents,

She was a homemaker and a member of Apostolic Tabernacle Church in
Edinburgh.

Tyus Dante Perrier, 9 months, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident
of Houma, died at 6:55 a.m. Monday, March 29, 1999.

He is survived by his parents, Tony and Kenya Boutte Perrier Jr.; his

Mausoleum in Patterson.
He is survived by his wife, Sydonia "Dawn" Orgeron Hebert of Bayou
Vista; his father, Albert Hebert of Morgan City; three sons, Ronnie Estay Jr.
of Berwick, Darrel Hebert of Bayou Vista, and Scott Estay
of Patterson; three
daughters, Melanie Hebert of Patterson, April Estay of Baton Rouge, and Cheri
Courts of Lafayette; two brothers, Lynwood and Horace Hebert, both of
Stephensville; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother.

CHARLOTTE JUNEAU
Charlotte Seal Juneau, 83, a native of Biloxi, Miss., and resident of
Houma, died at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday March 30, 1999.
Visitation was scheduled from 7a.m. to funeral time today at Lake Lawn
Metairie Funeral Home. Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at
the funeral home, with interment in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
She is survived by one son, Lon M. Juneau of Houma; one brother, Waldo
Seal; one sister, Marie Lattimer; three grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis M. Juneau; her parents,
Rodtick and Marie Ramon Seal; and four brothers, Florian, Leonard, Lon and
Dudley Seal.

He was a retired plumber with J. B. Boudreaux and Sons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Moore LeBlanc; his parents,

and John LeBlanc; one sister, Leona L Boudreaux.
He was a retired carpenter of Southdown Sugar Mill.

Clara Nell Lewis, 57, a native of Houma and resident of Wappingers Falls,
N.Y., died Thursday, March 25, 1999.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Lucy Catholic Church,
with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by three sisters, Rebecca Aubert of Chicago, Ill., Blondia
Moore of University Park, Ill., and Sandiia Beauty of Houma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Elsie Jasper Lewis;
and on
e brother, Curtis Narcisse.
She was a registered nurse at the Hebrew Home for the Aged for 36 years.
She was also Director of Employee Health Services.

Eva Mae Lewis, 90, a native and resident of Fort Branch, Ind., and former
resident of Houma, died at 1:25 p.m. Friday, April 2, 1999.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Holder Funeral Home and from
9 a.m. until funeral time on at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Branch.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park in
Evansville, Ind.
She is survived by one son, George W. Lewis of Buckskin, Ind.; one
daughter, Eileen Sue Titzer of Fort Branch; five grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and three
step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lewis; and her parents,
George C. and Mary Kennett Stone.
She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church, Fort Branch AARP
and past member of the Council on Aging.

Margaret Marie Lapeyrouse Theriot 64, a native and resident of Houma,

She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce C.J. Theriot; her.

She was a religion teacher, worked with the Knights of Columbus, a member of
Ladies Altar Society and a former member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church

Lafayette, died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, April 2, 1999

Home in Lafayette, with a wake service at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. until
funeral time Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. at
the church, with interment in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife , Sally Rogers Todd of Lafayette, his parents,
Spencer George Todd and Sara Virginia Tolar Todd of Franklin; one son,

r Todd IV of Lafayette; two daughters, Erin Elizabeth Todd and Amanda
Leigh Todd both of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Spencer Todd Sr.
and Frances Lyons Todd; and his maternal grandparents, John Tolar and Myrtle

He operated a tennis and racquet sports shop, coached a soccer team, and
was a certified public accountant employed, as comptroller for C.H.

He was a retired farmer, an employee of the Department of

Mineola Hebert Matheme, 89, a native of Montegut and resident of Houma,
died Sunday, April 4, 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner J. Matherne; her

Edward L. Walgamotte, 68, a native of New Orleans, former resident of
Houma and resident of Metairie, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 1999.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to funeral
time Tuesday at Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home in Kenner. Mass will be at 12:30
p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church in Metairie,
with interment in Restlawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Galliano Walgamotte; five sons, James
L., David L., Randell L., Steven L and Edward L. George Walgamotte; two
daughters, Marie L. Walgamotte and Peggy W. Dusenberry; one brother, Ronald
N. Walgamotte; two sisters, Patricia W. Lott and Lorraine W. Clark; 13
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of 21 years, a Vietnam War veteran and
the recipient of many medals and awards.

Percy Peter Duplantis, 77, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of
Houma, died at 10:15 a.m. Monday, April 5, 1999.
Visitation was scheduled from 8 a.m. to funeral time Duplantis today at
Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the
church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by three sons, Donald, Glynn and Blair Duplantis, all of
Grand Caillou; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Denise) Naquin of Grand Caillou;
nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Genita Marie Liner Duplantis; his
parents, Stanley and Ursula Fanguy Duplantis; two brother, Junius and Peter
Duplantis; one half brother, Howard Duplantis; one sister, Mary Duplantis; and
one grand-daughter, Pamela Duplantis.
He was a retired boat captain and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic
Church.

Dianne "Cookie" Holliday McKay, 47, a native of Terrebonne Parish and
resident of Chauvin, died at 8:57 p.m
. Friday, April 2, 1999.
Visitation will be from I to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Community Funeral
Home and from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist.
Wake services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Dismissal

She is survived by her husband, Leroy McKay; two daughters, Tiffany
LaGarde of Houma, and Marion Denise Holliday of Chauvin; two brothers, Calvin
and Elza Holliday Jr., both of Houma; one sister, Daisy Jackson of Chauvin;
and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elza and Marion Smith Holliday
Sr.; and her grandparents, Arthur and Daisy Champagne Smith, Marshal and
Velma Holliday, and George Chancy.
She was employed for more than 20 years at Leonard Chabert Medical
Center in the Dietary Department and was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist
Church.
HAROLD SILLERY SR.
Harold G. Sillery Sr., 95, a native of Gray and resident of Williamsburg,
Va., died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998.
A graveside memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Garden of
Memories Cemetery in Gray.
He is survived by two sons, Harold G. Sillery Jr. of Rhonert Park,
Calif., and Charles H. Sillery Sr. of Williamsburg; one brother, Cecil Sillery
of Tempe, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Francis Munson Sillery; his
parents; and three sisters.

Betty Blanchard Blanchard, 67 a native of Dulac and resident of' Houma,
died at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999.

WALTER GARDNER
Walter Dean Gardner, 65, a native of Chatfield, Minn., former resident of
New Orleans, and resident of Bentwater, Texas, died Wednesday, March 31,
1999.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe,
Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Guidry Gardner of
Bentwater, his mother-in-law, Mary Dagate Guidry of Houma; two sons, Walter
Dean Gardner and wife, Colleen, of Portland, Ore., and Lawrence Bene Gardner
and wife, Carol, of Henderson, Texas; two daughters, Mary Helen Gardner of
Portland, and Mrs. Randal (Elizabeth) Maddaford of Arlington, Texas; and five
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Donovan Dean and Helen Walsh
Gardner; one brother; and one sister.
He was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana and was
employed by Arkansas Fuel Oil, Cities Service Oil Company and Occidental
Petroleum.

He is survived by two sons, Daniel Lafont of Golden Meadow, and Jerry

of New Orleans; one brother, Hubert Lafont Jr. of Larose; three sisters,
Isabella Vizier of Golden Meadow, Ruby LeBlanc of Franklin and Gloria Eyrnard
of Cut Off, six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Georges Lafont, his parents,
Hubert and Marie Hebert Lafont, Sr.; one brother, Duffy Lafont; and one

He was one of the founders of the Louisiana Shrimp Association, a U.S. &
World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion, a third degree member
of the Nights of Columbus and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999.

brothers, Dewey and Andrew Lapeyrouse; 16 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Picou Lapeyrouse; his
parents, Octave and Emma Fanguy Lapeyrouse; one son, Leland Lapeyrouse; four
brothers, Louis, Camille, William and Octave Lapeyrouse Jr.; two sisters,
Emma Bosbien and Lillian Lapeyrouse; and one grandson, Brien D. Trosclair.
He was a retired fisherman and the caretaker of the Knights of Columbus
Hall in Chauvin for more than 27 years. He was a wood carver, pirogue builder
and an active participant of Downtown on the Bayou.
He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, past
grandknight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5013 and an usher and
parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

John Edward Parr, 43, a native of Lockport and resident of Bayou Blue,
died at 11:06 p.m. Monday, April 5, 1999.

FORMER ST. FRANCIS PASTOR DIES
Monsignor Harrison A. Martin, a former pastor of St. Francis de
Sales in Houma and a priest of the Archdiocese of New Orleans for more than
60 years, died Thursday, May, April 22, 1999, at a New Orleans hospital.
He was 87.
Martin, who was retired and fiving in Metairie at the time of his death,
served as pastor of St. Francis de Sale from 1967 to 1971.
Martin also served as dean of the Terrebonne Deanery. During his time in
Houma, Martin helped co-found the Terrebonne Association of Ministers.
Monsignor Joseph Latino, rector of St. Francis de Sales, said Saturday he
remembers Martin as a man filled with kindness.
"I only worked with him for a very short time around 1967 and '68, but I
recall that he was a man filled with gentleness. Opened to everyone. A very
kind man," Latino said.
Monsignor Frederi
c Brunet pastor at St. Joseph Church in Chauvin, was a
younger priest when he first met Martin.
"I knew him in the '60s back in New Orleans through our work in the
archdiocese. He was older and myself and the other younger priests respected
and looked up to him," Brunet said. "He was a model we tried to imitate. He
was successful and did good work. I remember thinking 'I wish I could be like
that.'He was an inspiration."
Martin, a native of New Orleans, attended St. Joseph Seminary College and
Notre Darne Seminary and was ordained in 1937. After assignments at parishes
in Lockport and New Orleans, he served as a military chaplain during World War
II. Martin's first pastorate after the war was at St. James Parish in
Vacherie.
Martin was honored by many Catholic and religious groups, including the
Terrebonne Chapter of the National Council of Christians and Jews. Martin was
the honorary chairman of the Centennial Celebration of the Advent of the
Marionites of the Holy Cross to Houma in 1970.
Instead of a wake service, relatives and friends of the family are invited
to attend a Mass for the dead, which will be celebrated in Latin according to
the pre-vatican II Form of the Roman Rite. It will be Tuesday at Our Lady of
the Rosary Catholic Church in New Orleans at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will
begin at 6:30 p.m.
A
funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our
Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. and
interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
Martin is survived by one nephew, Edward M. Volk of Metairie; two
nieces, Andrea Gereighty of Metairie and Mary Patron of Knoxville, Tem.;
and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison E. Martin and Jeanne C.
