MALONEY - Esther Coburn Maloney, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Friday, November 
20, 1981 at 10 a.m., beloved wife of the late James P. Maloney, daughter of the 
late Mary Ann McMahon and Arthur J. Coburn, mother of Mrs. Charles N. (Julia) 
Meole, Mrs. Joseph S. (Lucille) Serio, Mrs. Leonard K. (Esther) Fisher, Mrs. 
James L. (Johanna) Cotter, Arthur J., James P. and Ida Maloney and the late Mrs. 
Sidney L. (Juanita) Thomson and Mary Elma Maloney, sister of Ida M. Coburn and 
the late Mrs. John P. Reynolds, Robert J., Joseph J., Albert J. and Arthur J. 
Coburn, also survived by 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Age 94 
years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
from McMahon-Coburn-Briede Funeral Home, 600 Moss Street, on Saturday afternoon, 
November 21, 1981 at 1:30 o'clock Followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. 
Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment Metairie Cemetery. Friends may call on 
Saturday morning after 11 a.m.

MALONEY, MRS. ESTHER COBURN - Died at 9:45 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, 1981, in Baton 
Rouge. She was 94, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge for 20 
years.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 21, at McMahon-
Coburn-Briede Funeral Home, New Orleans, followed by Mass at St. Patrick's 
Church. Burial in Metairie Cemetery.

Survived by five daughters, Julia M. Meole, Baton Rouge, Lucille M. Serio, 
Beaumont, Texas, Esther M. Fisher, Boutte, Johanna F. Kotter, Mandeville, and 
Ida M. Maloney, New Orleans; two sons, Arthur J. Maloney, Lafayette, and James 
P. Maloney Jr., Baton Rouge; a sister, Ida M. Coburn, New Orleans; 22 
grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, 
James P. Maloney Sr.; parents, Mary Ann McMahon and Arthur J. Coburn; two 
sisters, Mrs. Elma C. Reynolds and Juanita Coburn; and four brothers, Robert J., 
Joseph J., Albert J. and Arthur J. Coburn.
