DEATH OF MRS. AUGUST SIMON OCCURS TODAY. - Mrs. August Simon, prominent resident 
of Lafayette parish, died at her home in the Second Ward at 12:10 this morning, 
at the age of 56 years.

Funeral services will be held at a Requiem Mass at 9:00 o'clock Saturday morning 
at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, followed by interment in the 
Maurice Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Simon, nee Elinor Vincent, was a daughter of the late Alexandre Vincent and 
Eugenie LeBlanc, pioneer residents of this parish. She is survived by her 
husband, well-known farmer and school board member; three daughters, Mrs. Jerome 
Hernandez, Mrs. George Stutes and Miss Alice Simon, all of this parish; three 
sons, C.G. and Willie Simon of this city, and Dallas Simon of Lafayette parish; 
and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral arrangements are in charge of Crouchet and Guchereau, with the 
Dauterive Undertaking Co.

LAST RITES ARE HELD FOR MRS. AUGUSTE SIMON. - Funeral services for Mrs. Auguste 
Simon, whose death occurred Friday at her home in the Second Ward of Lafayette 
parish, were conducted at a Requiem Mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in 
Maurice at 9:00 o'clock Saturday morning by the pastor, the Reverend P.M. Gruel, 
and were largely attended.

Interment took place in the Catholic cemetery in Maurice.

The pallbearers were C.G., Willie and Dallas Simon, sons of the deceased; George 
Stutes, Jerome Hernandez and Gladu Broussard, sons-in-law; and Mayo Trahan and 
Antoine Vincent, nephews.
