W. E. BOWEN FORMER CITIZEN OF LAFAYETTE DEAD.

W. E. Bowen, a former resident of this city and well known to many here, died in 
Kansas City, Mo. Thursday evening as the result of injuriesreceived (sic) in a 
railroad wreck several weeks ago. He was 54 years old and a prominent labor 
leader in New Orleans. In the nineties he was a justice of the peace in this 
city, moving from here to the city. The body was taken to New Orleans for 
interment.

Note: William Edward Bowen, Sr. is buried in the Cypress Grove cemetery located 
in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.
