OBITUARY OF LAFAYETTE CONWAY
Big Sandy News
Friday, August 1, 1941

Conway, Lafayette

The death angel visited the home of Mrs. Jane Conway, July 15, at 6:20
P.M. and took her dear husband Lafayette. He leaves to mourn his loss, a
wife, seven children, thirty grandchildren, twenty-seven great
grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

His children are as follows: four sons: Lewis of Ashland; Sherman of
East Jordan, Michigan; George of Parkersburg, West Virginia; Morton of
Lexington; and three daughters: Mrs. William Yates of Ashland, Mrs.
Thena McAllister, Ashland; and Mrs. M.V. Hensley of Orr, Kentucky.

Mr. Conway was 81 years, 10 months, and 6 days old. He has been a
faithful worker for the Primative Baptist Church since 1895. He was an
elder of the Union Church until his health would no longer permit him to
attend. He was a firm believer in the doctrine of salvation by grace. He
was also a good neighbor, respected by all who knew him. He always had a
word of consolation for all whom he met and his last words were, "I know
not why He has spared me this long. But God has a purpose in all
things."

May his soul rest in peace. Signed: A neighbor
