January 15, 1824

This indenture made this fifteenth day of January in the
year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty four between
Springer Gibson of the County of Pike and state aforesaid
of the one part and Harrison Smith of Oglethorpe County
and state of the other part.

Witnesseth the said Springer Gibson for and in
consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him
in hand paid by the said Harrison Smith at or before the
sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged have bargained & sold & by these
presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said
Harrison Smith his heirs and assigns all that tract of
lot of land situate lying and being in the County of Pike
containing two hundred two and a half acres in fifteenth
district of Monroe formerly now included in the said
County of Pike & State aforesaid & known in the plan of
said district by the lot number seventy four and bounded
more particularly as follows viz: by lot number seventy
five, seventy three, sixty two and ninety seven having
such form and marks as are expressed  and delineated in a
plat annexed to a grant for the same to William Ryle of
Wilkinson County & said State reference to the said plat
and grant will  more fully and at large appear together
with all and singular the rights members & appurtenances
thereof to have and to hold the said described lot or
parcel of land with every of its rights members and
appurtenances and the said Springer Gibson his heirs and
assigns the lot or parcel of land as aforesaid will well
and truly warrant and defend against him and his heirs
and all an every person or persons whatsoever to him the
said Harrison Smith his heirs & assigns forever by these
presents.

In testimony whereof the said Springer Gibson has
hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year at first
written.
