Gurtie Smith

Gurtie Parker Smith, 86, of Blakely, died Friday, September 9, 1994, at Early 
Memorial Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.

A resident of Blakely for the past 21 years.  Mrs. Smith was born March 11, 
1908, in Miller County, Ga., to the late Oscar Parker and the late Minnie 
Addison Parker.  She was a homemaker and a member of Bellview Baptist Church 
in Miller County.  Mrs. Smith was married to the late Seymour Marion Smith.

Grave side services were Sunday, September 11, 1994, 3 p. m., at the Blakely 
Cemetery with Reverend Paul Irvin officiating.  Manry - Jordan - Hodeges 
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Baughns Smith of Tampa, Fla., three 
daughters, Agnes Hudson-Branton and Frances Martin, both of Blakely, and 
Shirley Wilkerson of Albany, Ga., one sister, Mrs. Oliver Moody of Seffner, 
Fla., eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one 
great-great-grandchild.
