     school teacher and was organist for New Vision Tabernacle.

     William Carl Dawson. She was retired from ALMAR Manufacturing Co.
     and was a member of Washington Chapel.
        Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Washington Chapel with the
     Rev. Peter Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Washington-Wilkes
     Memorial Garden.
        Survivors include three sons, Billy Dawson and Wayne Dawson,
     both of Washington, and Gary Dawson, La Grange; a brother, Walter
     B. Meaders, Greenville, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and five
     great-grandchildren.

        A native of Greene County, Mr. Moon was a son of the late Guy A.
     Moon and Julia Cook. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of
     Southside Baptist Church. He was founder and owner of H.E. Moon
     Glass Co. since 1964. He was a member of Grand Lodge of Georgia
     710, Martinez, Alee Temple 12008, Savannah, and Scottish Rite of
     Free Masonry. He was a life member of Augusta Shrine Club 44.
        Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Callaway Funeral Home,
     Union Point, with the Rev. Howard Callaway officiating. Burial with
     Masonic rites will be in Siloam Cemetery, Siloam.
        Survivors include two daughters, B.J. Moon Carter, Augusta, and
     Mussette Moon Morris, Wrens; three sons, Mike Moon, Blythe, David
     Moon and Carey Moon, both of Augusta; two sisters, Betty Moon
     Morris, Forest Park, and Christine Moon Rosendahl, La Grange; a
     brother, D.T. Moon, Forest Park; 15 grandchildren; and 17
     great-grandchildren.

     Center.

     with the Revs. Frank Bearden and Roger Elrod officiating. Burial
     will be in the church cemetery.

        Robert E. Ownbey, age 83 of West Branch, MI. passed away
     Wednesday March 7, 2001. Mr. Ownbey was born in Athens and had also
     lived in California before moving to West Branch in 1989. He was a
     WW II Veteran.
        Mr. Ownbey is survived by his wife Janie of West Branch,
     stepdaughters, Debby Dewalt and Kathy (Martin) Rau both of West
     Branch, step daughters in law, Ella and Joanne and
     stepgrandchildren Don, Chris, Tara, Kacey, Josh, John Henry, Kristi
     and Steven. Also surviving are two sisters, Naomi Bernette of
     Athens and Mary Burger of Etowah, Tenn., many nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his first wife, Della, stepsons, Tim
     and Stacy Robbins, brothers John and Marvin Ownbey and sisters
     Willie Anderson and Nellie Wilson.
        The Funeral Service was held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 10,
     2001 at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI.
        Burial followed at Edwards Township Cemetery.

     late Herschel Songer.
        He was self-employed as an independent distributor for Flowers
     Baking Company. He was a loving, devoted husband, father, and
     grandfather. A brother, Melvin Songer, preceded him in death.
        Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Patsy M. Songer; one
     daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Bryan Eades; one son, Trey
     Seagraves; two grandsons, Austin and Brice Eades; and
     mother-in-law, Lorene Moseman. He is also survived by two sisters,
     Carole Hunter and Cindy Copeland; two brothers, Larry Songer and
     Chris Songer, all residing in Arkansas; and several nieces and
     nephews.
        Funeral services will be held Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Bernstein
     Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Marsingill officiating.
     Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will
     receive friends prior to the service from 2-4 p.m. at Bernstein
     Funeral Home.

        Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday in the chapel of Lord
     & Stephens Funeral Home, West. Rev. C.R. Hill will officiate.
     Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
        Survivors include her husband, Thad H. Ward of Athens; son, Tony
     Ward of Casselberry, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Brenda
     Ward of Watkinsville; daughter, Roseanne Wilson of Bishop; three
     granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Kellie and Andy Prince of
     Farmington, Rhonda and Brad Nasiatka of Orlando, FL, and Julianne
     Wilson Butler and John Butler of Bishop; grandson and
     granddaughter-in-law, Kevin and Maggie Ward of Athens; grandsons,
     Eric S. Wilson of Bishop and Brandon Ward of Orlando; two great
     grandchildren, Wesley Butler and Daniel Butler, both of Bishop; and
     three sisters-in-law, Evelyn Ward of Athens, Maude Harris of
     Winder, and Leanna Junod of Austin, TX.
        The family will receive friends 1-2 PM Friday at the funeral
     home.
        The family is at the residence of Robert Ward, 1061 Bradham
     Drive, Watkinsville.
        In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Watkinsville
     First Christian Church Youth Fund.
