      Albert G. Andrews, 91, of 228 Keowee Trail, formerly of Toccoa,
   died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998.
      A native of Carnesville, Mr. Andrews was a son of the late Henry M.
   and Ola Browning Andrews and widower of Madeira Vaughan Andrews. He
   was a retired Southland Life Insurance manager, a member of Ebenezer
   Baptist Church, a charter member of the 220 Senior Fellowship and an
   active member in his Sunday school class.
      Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist
   Church with the Rev. Jack Sosby and Dr. Marion H. Hare officiating.
   Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed
   in the church at 10:30 a.m.
      Survivors include three daughters, Henri Nell Bertschin, Jonesboro,
   Albertine Anderson, Seneca, S.C., and Evalyn Carter, Greenville, S.C.;
   two brothers, Dow L. Andrews and Horace M. Andrews, both of
   Carnesville; a sister, Nettie A. Harrison, Summerville, S.C.; seven
   grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
      The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Whitlock
   Mortuary, Toccoa.
      Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1100 S. Big A
   Road, Toccoa, Ga. 30577.
   Will Bishop
   Madison
      Will Henry Bishop, 57, of 2471 Farmington Road died Friday, Feb. 6,
   1998.
      A native of Greene County, Mr. Bishop was a son of Mazie S. Dumas
   of Madison and the late Edward Bishop.
      Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Little Creek Baptist
   Church with the Revs. Robert Slaughter and Dr. Winfred M. Hope
   officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be
   placed in the church at 1 p.m.
      Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Edna
   Bishop; two daughters, Frances Bishop and Jennifer Bishop, both of
   Athens; four sisters, Shirley Billups, Jeannette Wilson and Lucille
   Stovall, all of Athens, and Sarah Allen, Fayetteville, N.C.; two
   brothers, Eddie Bishop and Walter Stovall, both of Madison; and seven
   grandchildren.
      Hurley Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.

   Hartwell
      Jasben Kazar Fortson, 46, of 130 David St. died Wednesday, Feb. 11,
   1998.
      A native of Elbert County, Mr. Fortson was a son of Ruby Fortson of
   Hartwell and the late Joe W. Fortson Sr. He was a member of Shiloh
   Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
      Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mack's Funeral Home
   with Brother James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh
   Church Cemetery.
      Survivors, in addition to his mother, include five children, Kazak
   Maurice Fortson, Dee Dee Fortson and La Shae Fortson, all of Atlanta,
   and Christi Ann Teasley and Tina Renee Rucker, both of Hartwell; five
   sisters, Juanice Hendricks, Como, N.C, Comilla Rucker, Hartwell, and
   Charlotte Rucker, Sherrel McCord and Olivia Fortson; a brother, Joe W.
   Fortson Jr., Hartwell; and four grandchildren.
      The family is at the home of Mr. Fortson's mother, Ruby Fortson,

   Isaac C. Gowder
   Maysville
      Isaac C. Gowder, 81, of 460 Carson Segars Road died Wednesday, Feb.
   11, 1998.
      A native of Homer, Mr. Gowder was a son of the late I.F. and Bell
   Massey Gowder. He was a retired maintenance employee of General Times
   and a member of Grove Level Baptist Church and American Legion.
      Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Grove Level Baptist
   Church with the Rev. Swayne Carlan officiating. Burial will be in
   Grove Level Cemetery.
      Survivors include his wife, Lila Mae Gowder; two daughters, Wilda
   Brock, Maysville, and Debra Strickland, Hull; two sons, Donnie Gowder,
   Maysville, and Jerry Gowder, Gainesville; two stepdaughters, Ann
   Osgood, Snellville, and Geneva Savage, Maysville; two stepsons, Calvin
   Bolton, Maysville, and Tom Bolton, Tyron; a sister, Manolia Veal,
   Maysville; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

      Frederick William "Fred" Mason, 74, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998.
      A native of Louisville, Ky., Mr. Mason was a son of the late Percy
   B. and Isabelle Haas Mason. He was a former import monitor with the
   FDA U.S. Government and was a Navy World War II veteran. He was a
   member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the church choir, Parrish
   Council and Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of Marist School
   and Woodrow Wilson Law School.
      Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic
   Church, Toccoa. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Floral
   Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker.
      Survivors include his wife, Rita Hart Mason; three daughters,
   Kathleen Busdeker, Smyrna, Debbie Fletcher, Lawrenceville, and Teresa
   Landers, Suwanee; two sons, Thomas Frederick "Tom" Mason, Acworth, and
   Steve Mason, Atlanta; two sisters, Bette Harvey, Decatur, and Kitty
   Youngdahl, Short Hills, N.J.; eight grandchildren; two
   great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
      The family is at the residence.

      Albert Stephens Rhodes, 93, of 4202 Delhi Road died Thursday, Feb.
   12, 1998.
      A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Rhodes was a son of the late John M.
   and Lois Wright Rhodes and widower of Lunelle Beard Rhodes. He was a
   farmer and a merchant and a member of Hiram Lodge 51 and Beulah
   Baptist Church in Beulah Community.
      Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Baptist
   Church with the Revs. O'Neil Martin and Sherman Padgett officiating.
   Burial will be in the church cemetery.
      Survivors include four daughters, Sara Frances R. Henderson, Beech
   Island, S.C., Barbara R. Oakley, Griffin, Betty R. Reese, Washington,
   and Patsy R. Mack, Tignall; four sons, Robert Sanders Rhodes, Ed
   Rhodes and William Rhodes, all of Tignall, and Albert S. Rhodes Jr.,
   McDonough; a sister, Sarah R. Harper Mathews, Tignall; 17
   grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
      Pallbearers will be grandsons, including Randy Rhodes, Mike Reese,
   John Mack, William Johnson, Creighton Henderson and Robert Darracott.
   Honorary pallbearers will be Derrick Rhodes, Robert Rhodes, Chris Mack
   and Ronnie Rhodes.

   Frank Seaman
   Martin
      Frank Ray Seaman, 81, of 124 Whispering Woods Road died Tuesday,
   Feb. 10, 1998.
      A native of Burlington, W. Va., Mr. Seaman was a son of the late
   David Samuel and Anna Virginia Tephanbaugh Seaman. An Army veteran of
   World War II, he was a former supervisor with Bethlehem Steel, where
   he was employed for 27 years, a volunteer worker with Toccoa Falls
   College and a member of First Alliance Church.
      Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Whitlock Mortuary
   with the Rev. Ferrell Towns officiating. Burial will be in Memorial
   Park Cemetery, Gainesville.
      Survivors include his wife, Alice Thomas Seaman; three daughters,
   Ruby Rothenburg, Nebo, N.C., Rae McLaughlin, Punta Gorda, Fla., and
   Mary Allen, Toccoa; a son, the Rev. Samuel D. Seaman, New Port Richey,
   Fla.; two sisters; a brother; 15 grandchildren; and nine
   great-grandchildren.
      Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
      The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Allen, 116 Hillandale
   Drive, Toccoa, and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the
   mortuary.
   Lottie Segars
   Royston
      Lottie Lee Segars, 90, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998.
      A native of Oconee County, S.C., Mrs. Segars was a daughter of the
   late William M. and Roxie Ann Richardson and widow of S.P. Carter. She
   was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Carter, and three sons,
   Ralph Carter, Roy Lee Carter and W.S. Carter. She was a homemaker and
   a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
      Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hamby-Weldon Funeral
   Home, Lavonia. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church
   Cemetery.
      Survivors include a son, Archie T. Carter, Lavonia; seven
   grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
      The family is at the home of Mrs. Seagars' son, Archie T. Carter,
   636 Hartwell Road, Lavonia, and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at
   the funeral home.
   James Thornton Sr.
   Elberton
      James Carlton Thornton Sr., 79, of 1348 Lexington Highway died
   Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998.
      A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Thornton was a son of the late James
   Marion and Virginia Mathews Thornton. An Army veteran of World War II,
   he was a retired real estate officer with the Army Corps of Engineers.
   He was of the Baptist faith.
      Funeral services will be at 11 am. Saturday at Berry Funeral Home
   with the Rev. Steve Forsythe officiating. Burial will be in Forest
   Hills Memorial Park.
      Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Thornton Lindsay,
   Warrenville, S.C., and Nancy Thornton, Hartwell; a son, James Carlton
   "Pete" Thornton Jr., Elberton; and two sisters, Nell Hubbard and Reba
   Nash, both of Elberton.
      The family members are at their respective homes and will receive
   friends 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

      Matthew Hunter Todd, 5 months, of Stapler's Bridge Road died
   Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998.
      Matthew was born in Fulton County, a son of Scarlett Atkins Todd of
   Nicholson and Matthew Steven Todd of Monroe.
      Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Young Harris Memorial
   United Methodist Church, Athens, with the Rev. Jerry Varnado
   officiating. Burial will be in Stapler Cemetery.
      In addition to his parents, he leaves grandparents, Stanley and

      Patsy Joyce Turnbull, 57, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998.
      Mrs. Turnbull was a daughter of Lois Kinsey of Auburn and the late
   Roy Kinsey. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and was
   employed by Flowers by Jim as a floral arranger.
      Funeral arrangements will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home,
   Winder, with the Rev. Virgil Vickers officiating. Burial will be in
   Barrow Memorial Gardens.
      Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Harold
   Turnbull; four daughters, Connie Arnhart, Alpharetta, and Cindy
   Parker, Flowery Branch, and Pam Chambers and Stacy Turnbull, both of
   Winder; a son, David Turnbull, Auburn; 12 grandchildren; and a
   great-grandchild.

      LaFaye Carnette Wise, 20, of 1535 Tallassee Road died Tuesday, Feb.
   10, 1998.
      A native of Oglethorpe County, Miss Wise was a daughter of Marie
   Hull Wise of Athens and Marvin Wise of South Carolina. She moved to
   Clarke County at the age of 10, attended Clarke Middle School and
   Cedar Shoals High School and was presently employed at General Time
   Corporation of Athens.
      Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist
   Church, Stephens, with the Revs. Calvin Turner, W.R. Flint and Michael
   Gresham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body
   will be placed in the church at noon.
      Survivors, in addition to her parents, include three sisters,
   Latoya Wise, Sade Wise and Terrica Wise, all of Athens; two brothers,
   Demond Wise and Jakiese Wise, both of Athens; and aunts and uncles.
      Pallbearers will be Marcus Brown, Deveckio Flint, Lamar Power,
   Taurus Wymbs, Tyrone Hull, Mark Hunter and Eddie Payne.
      The family is at the residence and will receive friends 1-7 p.m.
   today at Winfrey's Mutual Funeral Home.
