Opal Clark

Opal Beatrice Clark, 87, of Walnut Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center ,
Springdale , Arkansas , died February 18, 2009, after an extended illness due to
complications from a fractured hip on October 2nd. She was born February 21,
1921 in Savoy , Arkansas to Daniel Joseph Layne and Roxie Lena Morris Layne. She
was a member of Zion ’s Rest Primitive Baptist Church in Centerton , Arkansas ,
for over fifty years. She had numerous hobbies and talents but had a special
passion for gardening and was blessed with a "green thumb." She worked as a
caregiver for many years and always put others’ needs before her own.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers.

Survivors include three children, daughter, Carylon Cox and husband James, son,
David Clark, and daughter, Pam Bohannan and husband Don; four granddaughters;
one step-grandson; six great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; one
brother, Arnold Layne; and one sister, Jewel Porter.

Celebration of life services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009, at
Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs , Arkansas , with Elder James Isaacs
officiating. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery in Savoy , Arkansas .
Memorials may be made to Zion ’s Rest Primitive Baptist Church c/o Adrian
