Minnie L. Cates, 87, of Little Rock, died on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008.

Born on March 16, 1920, in North Little Rock, she was the daughter of Murray and
Ninnie Laughlin.

Mrs. Cates was a schoolteacher in El Dorado before retiring in LaMarque, Texas.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Betty Walsh
of Malvern and Neva Callender of Redondo Beach, Calif.; one brother, Wallace
Laughlin of Spring Lake, Minn.; four grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey &
Roth in Little Rock with the Rev. Stan Parrish officiating. Burial will be at 2
p.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery in El Dorado.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

J.T. Wear, 91, of Warren, died on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Wagnon Place Nursing
Home.

Born on Dec. 5, 1916, in Bradley County, he was the son of William Newton Wear
and Ida Baker Wear. He was a retired lumber grader for Potlatch Corp., and a
member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ruth Turner Wear; a
brother, Clyde Wear; and sisters Floy Steadan and Lummy Bartram.

There are no immediate survivors.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Frazer's Chapel. Burial will be in
Hickory Springs Cemetery near Hermitage under the direction of Frazer's Funeral

James Russell Langston, 25, of El Dorado, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at his
residence.

Born April 9, 1982, in El Dorado, he was an avid sportsman, excelling in
baseball and enjoying hunting and music. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army,
having served honorably in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he received several
commendations, including the Meritorious Service Award. He was also a member of
College Avenue Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Dwana Jennings;
paternal grandfather, James William Langston; and stepfather, Blake Hicks.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, James "Tinker" and Karen Langston
of El Dorado; his mother, Leesha Langston Hicks of El Dorado; brothers, Chris
Loggins of El Dorado, Jeremy Langston and his wife, Karen, of Morrilton, and
Joseph Adam Langston of El Dorado; nephew, Avery Langston of Morrilton; paternal
grandparents, Maggie and Robert Stanford of Harrisburg; and numerous aunts and
uncles; and a host of friends.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the College Avenue Church
of Christ with Dr. Dan Williams and Bro. Kent Jobe officiating.

James Ray Orren, 79, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008.

He was born June 28, 1928, in Homer, La., to John and Susie Orren. James was a
resident of Lake Jackson for more than 40 years. He worked for Dow Chemical for
35 years. James was also a member of the Second Baptist Church of Lake Jackson.
He was a beloved husband, father, brother and both a grandfather and a great-
grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Modelle Orren; daughter, Sandra
Hightower and her husband, Elton; three sons, Mike, Mark and Jeff Orren; four
sisters, Betty Mason, Geraldine Ashworth, Linda Taweel and Carolyn Woodruff;
brother, Lonnie Orren; beloved grandchildren, Lee, David, Nicole and Jackie
Orren, and Ryan Hightower; great-grandchildren, Jordan Orren and Hunter

Vada L. Outlaw, 92, of Warren, and formerly of Little Rock, died Sunday, Jan.
20, 2008, at Bradley County Medical Center.

The daughter of Ben Outlaw and Nancy Abigail Savage Outlaw, she was born June 3,
1915, in Bradley County. She was a retired executive secretary for Dyke
Insurance with more than 50 years of service. She was a member of Quapaw United
Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur Outlaw, and Milton
Outlaw; and sisters, Mozelle Outlaw, Judy Varnell, Maggie Outlaw, Ruby Spraggins
and Olivia Smith.

Survivors include one sister, Faye Lowry of Bryant.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Outlaw Cemetery near
Sumpter under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.

MARGIE A. TAYLOR

Margie Alice Browning Taylor, a retired nurse and former resident of Smackover,
died unexpectedly Jan. 19, 2008, at George Washington University Hospital in
Washington D.C., from complications of a long-standing lung condition. She was
84 years old.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Springhill, La., the daughter of Savannah Ruth (Sears)
Browning and Thomas Cleveland Browning. She was a graduate of Springhill High
School.

During World War II, Mrs. Taylor was employed in the wartime industries in
Beaumont, Texas. She also worked for a time as a beautician in Little Rock. She
later moved to Smackover, where she lived most of her life with her husband of
47 years, Otha Taylor.

While in Arkansas, she was employed for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse
at Warner Brown Hospital in El Dorado., until her retirement. Mrs. Taylor was an
active member of the First Baptist Church in Smackover, where she also taught
Sunday School.

Mrs. Taylor enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband, family and friends and
spent numerous weekends and vacations at DeGray Lake State Park and sites along
the Ouachita River in Arkansas. She loved to travel, and in later years often
went on cruises with friends to Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean and other
destinations. An avid card player, Mrs. Taylor enjoyed canasta and other games,
especially for the opportunity it afforded to socialize with friends and family.

Mrs. Taylor was the mother of Otha J. (O.J.) Taylor and Thomas Clyde Taylor. O.
J. died in 1967 in an auto accident. Her husband died in 1991. A sister, Mittie
(Browning) Matlock, and a brother, Cecil Browning also preceded her in death.

In 2005, Mrs. Taylor moved to Washington, D.C., with her niece Bobbie Purvis to
be nearer her son. In Washington she made numerous friends at Golden Rule Plaza
Apartments and the Residences at Thomas Circle, where she resided and often
entertained her son and other guests for Sunday brunch.

In addition to her son, Thomas Clyde Taylor of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Taylor is
survived by a grandchild, Tammie Upton of Smackover; four great grandchildren,
Timothy, Jake, Logan, and Madeline; two nieces, Bobbie Purvis and Linda Matlock,
both of Missouri City, Texas; and numerous great nieces and nephews

Family and friends will be received at Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR on
Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral will be held at First Baptist Church in Smackover on Thursday, Jan. 24,
2008 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Vaughn Blue officiating.

Interment will follow in Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Bailey
Funeral Home.

He worked as a gauger for Cross Oil.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Timothy Dale Clanton, 54, of Warren, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Bradley
County Medical Center.

The son of Wayne A. Clanton and Ora King Clanton, he was born Feb. 18, 1953, in
Bradley County. He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Dallas in 1971, and
attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He served as an apprentice
with the boilermakers and joined the U.S. Army in 1985. He was stationed and
graduated from Fort Ben Harrison as a computer programmer in 1986. After
discharge from the army, he moved to Arkansas and worked as a boilermaker.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Diane Clanton.

Survivors include his parents; a son, Richard Clanton; two grandchildren; a
sister, Dr. Cathy Clanton Reeves of Bowling Green, Ky.; and two brothers, David
A. Clanton and Mark A. Clanton of Warren.

Eddie C. Glover, 70, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at his
residence.

The son of the Rev. Edward L. and Effie Tee Hicks Glover, he was born Oct. 4,
1937, in El Dorado. He was a member of Zion Watch Baptist Church, where he
served as deacon, deacon chairman, brotherhood, president, and vice-president of
the senior citizen ministries, and he also served as a mason. He sang in the
male choir and with the Mighty Gospel Voices for many years. He graduated form
Washington High School and worked as a truck driver for Lion Oil Refinery until
his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jennie Bee Glover; a brother,
Cleo Glover; and a sister, Annie B. Ford.

Survivors include three sons, Clifford Glover, Ricky Glover and Calvin Glover,
all of El Dorado; five daughters, Bobbie Seals of Texarkana, Texas, Linda
Thomas, Janet Bankston, Vicky Miller, and Lakesha Glover, all of El Dorado; two
brothers, the Rev. Otis Glover of Richmond, Calif., and Robert Glover of El
Dorado; two sisters, Ruth Simon of Portland, Ore., and Johnnie Mae McMurran of
Oakland, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A. Wesley "Wes" Miller, 94, a resident of Hudson Memorial Nursing Home, El
Dorado, died Monday Jan. 21, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas due to
cardiac arrest following emergency abdominal surgery.

Born on Nov. 6, 1913, in Brooklyn, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of Albert
J. Miller and Margaret Van Brunt.

He married Lois Elizabeth Platt in 1941; she was the mother of his three sons. A
decade after the death of Lois in 1975, he married Marguerite Jones Smith, who
died in 2006.

Survivors include his brother, Rutger Miller of Wanatchee, Wash.; and three
sons, David W. Miller of El Dorado and his wife, Brenda, Robert A. Miller of
Walkersville, Md., and his wife, Susie, and Larry A. Miller of Middletown, Md.,
and his wife, Pattie; five grandchildren, Jennifer C. Floumoy, Christopher W.

Wes served his country during World War II from 1941-1944 as a member of the
U.S. Navy. Not long after his military service, he joined IBM as an accountant
and rose to the position of comptroller of South America, during which time he
lived three years in Peru and three years in Uruguay, although most of his
working years were lived on Long Island.

He was an active member of Bellerose Baptist Church from the 1930's until
sometime in 1982, when he moved to El Dorado. His primary area of service to the
church was as treasurer. He also had the gift of giving, as he contributed to
many Christian mission organizations.

Throughout his younger life he seized every opportunity to learn the trade of
various builders and contractors in plumbing, electrical and carpentry. This
enabled him to use those talents in both building and remodeling homes for all
three of his sons. He was the very definition of "do-it-yourself," taking
special enjoyment in being able to restore anything broken.

A memorial service, following cremation, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan.
26, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors
immediately following the service.

A. Wesley "Wes" Miller, 94, a resident of Hudson Memorial Nursing Home, El
Dorado, died Monday Jan. 21, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas due to
cardiac arrest following emergency abdominal surgery.

Born on Nov. 6, 1913, in Brooklyn, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of Albert
J. Miller and Margaret Van Brunt.

He married Lois Elizabeth Platt in 1941; she was the mother of his three sons. A
decade after the death of Lois in 1975, he married Marguerite Jones Smith, who
died in 2006.

Survivors include his brother, Rutger Miller of Wanatchee, Wash.; and three
sons, David W. Miller of El Dorado and his wife, Brenda, Robert A. Miller of
Walkersville, Md., and his wife, Susie, and Larry A. Miller of Middletown, Md.,
and his wife, Pattie; five grandchildren, Jennifer C. Flournoy, Christopher W.
Miller, Rebecca E. Miller, Alex Miller, and Stephen Miller; step-grandson,

Lelah Barnard Morris, 94, of Warren, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Bradley

Born June 30, 1913, in Independence, Kan., she was the daughter of Merwyn Gordan

was a former worthy matron of the Warren Order of Eastern Star Chapter 3 and was
a former Bradley County Woman of the Year. She was an active member of the First
Baptist Church of Warren, where she taught Sunday School and was the director of
the Women's Missionary Union for many years.

Wanda Jo Ellen, 79, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Life Touch Hospice in El
Dorado.

She was born on July 23, 1928, in Bonham, Texas, to the Rev. J. O. Davis and
Bertha Allander Davis. She was a member of First Baptist Church in El Dorado and
a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Joe R. Ellen;
a son, David Walker Ellen; and a sister, Reva Phillips.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Anna Smith and husband, Bill, of Cotter; a son,
Terry Ellen and wife, Marlys, of Calion; and a sister, Ruby Fulton of Oklahoma
City.

She is also survived by grandchildren Brian and Brent Smith; Kim Conner and
Josie Ellen; Josh, Tim and Daniel Ellen; and great-grandchildren Luke and Maeve
Smith, Tatum and Stratton Smith, and Cooper Conner.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at First Baptist Church with Dr.
Lynn Worthen officiating. Entombment will be in the Arlington Memorial Park
Mausoleum under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.

RADIE L. HARBOUR

Radie Lerue Harbour, 76, of El Dorado, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at his
residence following a brief illness.

Born on Dec. 11, 1931, in El Dorado, he was the son of Claude and Austa Sanders
Harbour. Mr. Harbour was a retired veteran of 21 years in the U.S. Navy, serving
in Korea and Vietnam. He helped to maintain the security of the nation during a
critical time in its history with a devotion to duty and spirit of sacrifice in
keeping with the proud tradition of the military service.

During his service he was the recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation,
Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was
of the Baptist Faith.

Preceding him in death along with his parents was a brother, Chester Ray
Harbour.

Survivors include his wife, Dovie Harbour of El Dorado; one son, Steven L.
Harbour (Donna) of Hot Springs, and a stepson, Warner Carlyle (Billie Jean) of
El Dorado. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Sarah Wood, and one great-
grandson, Zachary Wood, both of Sheridan.

Graveside service wil be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in Salem Cemetery near Bearden
with the Revs. Billy Joe Evans and Sidney McGraw officiating. Interment will be
under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

She was born on April 11, 1916, in Memphis. She was a lifelong member of Holy
Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado, and a communicant at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church in Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harry Parish; and her parents,
Guido Spiotta and Mary Grillo Spiotta.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Parish of Houston, and Johnny Parish of
Fleetwood, Penn.; one daughter, Elaine Parish of Memphis; one brother, Dr.
Eugene Spiotta Sr. of Memphis; one sister, Yolanda Coco, of Hot Springs; four
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Park

TOMMIE M. ROBINSON

Tommie M. Robinson, 62, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Life
Touch Hospice House in El Dorado.

He was born April 24, 1945, in El Dorado, and was the son of Tom and Mary Alice
Robinson. He was a graduate of Washington High School. He served in the U.S.
Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary
Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Great Lakes Chemical Co.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Melba R. White.

Survivors include his wife, Frances C. Dawn Robinson of El Dorado; two sons, the
Rev. Kenneth Dawn of Wakevillage, Texas, and Jeffrey Robinson of Los Angeles;
two daughters, Karen Smith of Hot Springs and Lanette Dismuke of Bernice, La.;
his mother, Mary Alice Robinson of El Dorado; two sisters, Rosetta Cook of El
Dorado and Joyce McKnight of Little Rock; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church
with the Rev. Kenneth Dawn officiating.

Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens on Arkansas 335 under the

York; and a stepsister, Hazel Raines.

Annie Lee McLeod, 89, of New Edinburg, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at Medical
Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado.

Born April 26, 1918, in Banks, she was a daughter of Thomas Ederington and Lula
Belle Wooten Ederington. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity United
Methodist Church in Warren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burton McLeod; and two
sisters, Erma Ederington and Tommie Jean Ederington.

Survivors include a son, Bruce McLeod of New Edinburg; two grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

Ira "Skipper" Fautheree Jr., 39, of Piggott, died Jan. 27, 2008.

The son of Ira and Betty Ardoin Fautheree, he was born Jan. 17, 1969, in Baton

and spending time with his family.

Wallace D. McBride, 87, of Prescott, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan.
29, 2008.

He was born Oct. 23, 1920, to Amos and Lois Wood McBride.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dale McBride; and his
first wife of 51 years, Dorothy Burkett McBride. Survivors include his loving
wife of 11 years, Retta Rhodes McBride; one stepdaughter, Janette Hammond (Jim);

McKnight Thurlkill. He worked as an equipment operator for several local
contractors including Hub Frisby, Tom Loftin, and Robert Greenlee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund Thurlkill.

Survivors are his wife, Cherry Leimkuhl Thurlkill; son, Cody Jack Thurlkill,
both of El Dorado; his mother, Geraldine Thurlkill of El Dorado; brothers, Bruce
and Billy Thurlkill, both of El Dorado, and Robert Thurlkill of Spearsville,
La.; sisters, Connie Courtney of El Dorado and Mary Thurlkill of Oxford, Miss.
