ELIZABETH L. BROWN

Elizabeth Laverne White Brown, 77, of Haynesville, La., died Friday, Dec. 14,
2007, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, La.

The daughter of Hezekiah and Minnie White, she was born Jan. 23, 1930, in
Haynesville. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she was a
member of the choir and home mission. She was also a member of the Eastern Star,
a nurse's aide and cafeteria worker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; five sisters; and one
son, Dr. Willie Brown.

Survivors include her husband, J.D. Brown of Haynesville; one son, David Brown
of Mansfield, Texas; seven daughters, Bonnie Richardson, Bettie Ruth Thomas,
Linda Levingston, Brenda Bradford, all of Haynesville, Emma Lou Armstrong of
Chicago, Minnie Roberts of Tampa, Fla., and Sandra Ward of Germany.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church in Haynesville
with the Rev. C.W. Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery
under the direction of Sims Mortuary.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. A family hour will be held from
6 to 7 p.m. today at Friendship Baptist Church, 1936 Friendship Drive, in
Haynesville.

ELIZABETH CLARK

Elizabeth Clark, 84, of El Dorado, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Hillsboro
Manor Nursing Home in El Dorado.

Maurine Lowery Coke, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Medical Center of
South Arkansas.

She was born Dec. 10, 1925, in El Dorado, to Richard Marion Lowery and Viola May
Lowery. She was a homemaker, a former cook at South Arkansas Regional Health
Center, and a long-time employee of the El Dorado Golf and Country Club. She was
a member of West Side Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Holton Coke; brothers,
Bobby Gene, Wallace, Billy and Dayton Lowery; and sisters, Juanita Beck, Wanda
Nix, Jackie Ramsey and Gula Bess Goulart.

Survivors include a sister, Lanora Poole of Strong; and a host of many loving
relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Rehobeth Cemetery with the
Rev. Mike Eklund officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

ERMA L. COLEMAN

Erma Lou Coleman, 85, of Little Rock, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007.

She was born in Vivian, La., to H.S. and Hattie A. Harris Coleman. She was a
member of Park Hill Baptist Church and a former member at First Baptist Church
in Dallas. She was an active member of Beta Phi Sorority in Dallas. She was
retired as a distribution specialist for Best Food and Corn Product in Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Anna Rose Tarkington
and Johnnie Coleman.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Arlington Cemetery in
El Dorado.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in

Hazel R. Hampton, 76, of Farmerville, La., died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, in
Marion, La.

The daughter of Sam and Lucille Richard, she was born Dec. 3, 1931, in Strong.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Farmerville. She
was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Lee Richard and
Sam O. Richard; and one sister, Patsy Lee Richard.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Hampton Sr.; two sons, Charles Grayson and
Joseph Hampton Jr., both of Los Angeles; three daughters, Wanda Hampton Royal of
Los Angeles, Joanne Hampton Crouch of Compton, Calif., and Vickie Hampton of
Rancho Dominguez, Calif.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Patricia W. Jenkins, 77, of Columbia, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007.

DARYL J. MILLER

Daryl J. Miller, 42, of El Dorado, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at Medical Center
of South Arkansas.

The son of Harry and Geraldine Williams Miller, he was born July 22, 1965, in El
Dorado. He was a graduate of El Dorado High School, and a member of Mount
Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon, finance secretary,
Sunday School superintendent, brotherhood secretary, and church groundskeeper.
He was a 23-year employee of Pilgrim's Pride in the shipping department.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Miller of El Dorado; two sons, Demontras
Miller of El Dorado, and Christopher Richard of Sherwood; three daughters,
Shantell Richard of El Dorado, Tyronda Richard of Sherwood, and Dominique Miller
of Dayton, Ohio; three brothers, Lynn Watson and Spears Watson of El Dorado, and
Henry Scott of Beloit, Wis.; five sisters, Jacqueline Henry of El Dorado,
Augusteen Bradley of Detroit, Jerlynn Daniels of Bellwood, Ill., and Lula Mae
Williams and Betty Scott of Chicago; and six grandchildren.

Corbit Fike; and her husband, John C. Norris.

Survivors include Ronnie Norris and his wife, Lois, of Lawson; three
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

late Alfred Casey Harrison, Sr. and Annie Lou (Ainsworth) Harrison.

Mr. Harrison was a carpenter; co-owner and operator of B&H Construction; a
member of the NRA and of the Baptist faith.

Harrison and her fiancé, Donald, of Mount Holly; three brothers, Jimmy Harrison

Helen Louise Confer Faulkner, 84, of Lake Jackson, went to be with her Lord and
Savior, Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 14, 1923, in El Dorado, to Edward and Mae Confer.

Helen was a resident of the Brazosport, Texas, area for 56 years, member of
Emmanuel Baptist Church and retired from BISD in 2004 after 16 years of service.
She was a loving wife, fantastic mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and
friend. She always gave to others before herself.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Franklin "Tank" Faulkner;
parents; sister, Jerry Drury; and brother, Harry Confer.

Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Lewellyn and her husband, Larry, of
Houston, and Donna Faulkner of Richwood, Texas; sons, James Faulkner and his
wife, Sue, of North Carolina, and Curtis Faulkner of Clute, Texas; niece, Sherry

supervisor for Center Point Energy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Wherry Forrest; a son, Robert Harold Forrest
of Warren; a daughter, Monica Savage of Warren; a sister, Susan Whitten of
Branson, Mo.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

JAMES E. MOSS

Funeral for James Edgar "Jimmy" Moss, 68, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First
Baptist Church in Haynesville, La., with Dr. Shelby Cowling and Shawn Kaffka
officiating. Burial will be in Jolley Cemetery in Junction City under the
direction of Bailey Mortuary.

Mr. Moss passed away Dec. 24, 2007, at his home in Haynesville, La., after a
brief illness.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Bailey Mortuary in
Haynesville.

He was born in Junction City, to Carrie and Archie Moss on Dec. 2, 1939.

He served his country for three years as a signalman in the United States Navy.
He retired from David Wade Correctional Center after 20 years of service and
loved to fish, hunt, travel and spend time with his family, but most of all he
loved watching Kyle and Ryan play ball. For more than 30 years, he was an avid
fan of Haynesville Golden Tornado football.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two half-brothers, one half-sister, two
sisters, and seven brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Betty Moss; daughters, Becky Moss,
Brenda Acklin and husband, Dave, all of Haynesville, Jamie Schmidt and husband,
Gary, of El Cajon, Calif.; a sister, Pat Hicks of Haynesville; three grandsons,
Kyle and Ryan Acklin of Haynesville, and Matthew Acklin of Beaumont, Texas; and
numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Hicks, Tracy Moss, Rodney Moss, Tony
Taylor, Dan Acklin and Rocky Daniels. Honoraries will be Kyle Acklin, Ryan
Acklin, Robert Reeder, Mark Furlow, J.D. Moss, Paul Moss, Richard Moss, Donnie
Moss and the deacons of the First Baptist Church.

The family wants to send a very special thank you to Dr. Salmon, Martha,
Whitney, Hazel, Dr. Dhawan and Dr. Desia.

Jackie Phillips, 67, of Warren, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at Jefferson
Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.

The son of Seldon Phillips and Nora Godfrey Phillips, he was born June 4, 1940,
at Warren. He was a member of the Ark of Faith Fellowship, and was a retired
owner of Phillips Muffler Shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Theresa Carolyn West; a son,
Vaught Allen Phillips; and a sister, Lois Davis.

Survivors include two sons, Tony Phillips of Warren, and Andy Phillips of
Conway; two sisters, Bobbie Mann of Warren, and Joy Lytle of Monticello; and
four grandchildren.

Born July 25, 1919, in Farmerville, La., she was the daughter of Marvin Daniel
Cameron and Margaret Evelyn (Futch) Cameron. She was a clerk for Sterling's
Department Store in El Dorado and RO-MAR's Department Store in Junction City and
a member of First Assembly of God. She was a loving mother of three daughters, a
great cook and enjoyed sewing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leighton Wilkinson; and her
parents.

Homer Henry Garner, 95, of Rome, Ga., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, in
a Rome Health Care facility.

He was born in Camden on Sept. 28, 1912, the son of the late Jesse Dee Garner
and Ella Jane Moore Garner. Mr. Garner had been a resident of Floyd County, Ga.,
since 2001. He retired as chief fire dispatcher with the Orange County, Calif.,
Fire Department. Mr. Garner was a member of the Two Bayou Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years in April 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Michael H. Garner Sr. and his wife, Diane, of
Rome and Terry L. Garner and his wife, Donna, of Tucson, Ariz.; five
grandchildren, Michael and Emily Garner of Henderson, Nev., Cary and Laura

Funeral for Homer Henry Garner, 95, of Rome, Ga., will be at 11 a.m. today at
Two Bayou Church of Christ in Camden with his two sons officiating. Interment
will be in Two Bayou Cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home in
Camden.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until service time
today.
