In Memory of Tom Langston

"For 91 years
I worked and sweat
And I'm about as tired
as a man can get.
I've watched my children
grow proud and strong
And become good people
who do no wrong.

The things that I taught
you learned so well
You made me more proud
than words can tell.
Now ya'll get along
and don't cry for me
'Cause I'm going home
now to rest you see.

Just remember I loved you
and I know you loved me
The days are so long now
and I'm tired don't you see?
'Cause God finally said
'Tom, you've
done your best'
Come on home now,
It's time to rest".
