TAYLOR  CEMETERY
Logan County, AR

Taylor Cemetery, established in 1891, is 1.5 miles east of Tate, 
Cauthron Township, Logan County, Arkansas. The cemetery, about 1/2 acre 
in size, is well maintained and enclosed by a chain link fence. Graves 
without monuments are marked with concrete blocks. There are about 150 
graves as of 1997. The cemetery is an active cemetery.

The Old Taylor Cemetery is located on the Rebecca Taylor Homestead on 
the south banks of the Little Petit Jean Creek and is about .5 mile SW
of the Taylor Cemetery in Scott County. The new cemetery, which is in
Logan County, was established when a family living on the north side of 
the creek could not get to the cemetery because of a flood. The date
this old cemetery was established was before 1890. This cemetery contains
about 20 graves. Only three are marked as follows:

research by Lee Marks, 1689 Welling Drive, Troy, MI 48098 who is a former 
resident of Tate Community which is located in both Logan and Scott
Counties. South of the county line is Tate Township, Scott County. North 
of the county line is Cauthron Township, Logan County.
