 REV. WILLIAM CLEVELAND ROWE
 1953 - 1955
 
      Rev. William Cleveland Rowe (1893 - August 4, 1960) served as
 pastor during the time the church constructed the present sanctuary.
 A native of Arkansas, he was graduated by the Baptist Seminary, New
 Orleans, Louisiana.  He was a Mason.  He organized 50 new Baptist
 churches in his 39 years as a minister.

 REV. WILLIAM ROWE, CHURCH FOUNDER, DIES
 
      Rev. William Cleveland Rowe, aged 67, of 1321 Hanger Street,
 who organized 50 new Baptist churches in his 39 years as a minister,
 died Wednesday at a Little Rock hospital.
 
      Mr. Rowe had been working with his 50th congregation - the
 White Rock Chapel Baptist Church on U.S. Highway 65 south of Little
 Rock.  He was a missionary of the First Baptist Church at Little
 Rock.
 
      He attended high school in Lonoke and Prairie Counties and
 was graduated by the Baptist seminary at New Orleans.  He was a
 Mason.
 
      Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eula Speight Rowe; three
 sons, H.Y. Rowe of El Dorado, Sammy Rowe of Alexandria, La.,
 and Rev. Jerald Rowe of Berryville; a daughter, Mrs. Jane Moiser
 of Brooklyn; a brother, Doyle Rowe of Little Rock; four sisters,
 Mrs. Alma Morehead of Hensley, Mrs. Ada Laney of Pine Bluff, and
 Mrs. Gracie Mallard and Mrs. Elise Griffin, both of Gould, and 10
 grandchildren.  Funeral arrangements will be announced by North
 Little Rock Funeral Home.
