Obituary of Franklin Elmer "Buddy" May (1905-1951), Arkansas Gazette,
Thursday, January 25, 1951:
Elmer May, Little Rock Barber, Taken by Death
  Elmer May, aged 45, 820 Cypress Street, North Little Rock, died at a
Little Rock hospital Wednesday. Mr. May had lived in Pulaski County for
20 years. He was a barber at the Henry Childress Shop and was a member
of the First Baptist Church of North Little Rock.
  Survivors are three brothers, Robert May of Little Rock, Paul May of
Lafayette, La., and Lloyd May of Houston, Tex.; and two sisters, Mrs.
B.H. Akins of Little Rock and Mrs. John M. Fleetwood of Houston, Tex.
  Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Griffin-Leggett Chapel,
by rev. Owen W. Moran. Pallbearers will be Thomas A. Spencer, Flay
Tolleson, Clyde A. Lewis, G.G. Carter, F.L. Hubbard, O.B. Yeager, J.J.
Blassingame and Henry Childress. Burial will be at Roseland Memorial
Park.
