  James Thomas Lawrence, 71, of Payneway, a retired farmer, died early 
thismorning in Newport Hospital. He was a native of Oklahoma and belonged 
to the Pentecostal Church.
  Surviving are two sons, Frank Lawrence of Payneway, and Howard Lawrence
of Weona; one daughter, Mrs. Retha Garrison of Weona; one brother, 
Willie Lawrence of Egypt, a sister, Mrs. Annie Johnson of California, and 
19 grandchildren.
  Funeral arrangements are not complete at this time Interment will be in
Holly Springs Cemetery.
  Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home is in charge.

  Funeral services for James Thomas Lawrence, 71, of Paynemway, retired
farmer, who died Tuesday in Newport Hospital, will be held this 
afternoon at 2:30 pm in Jackson's Chapel with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery with Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral 
Home in charge.
  Surviving, besides those listed yesterday are 18 grandchildren and 15
great grandchildren.
