Newport Daily Independent, Newport, Jackson Co., AR - Monday, 11 Sep 1961
 Mrs. Addie Verdict, 65, 518 Malcolm Ave., died at 2 p.m. Saturday in a local 
hospital.
 Born June 15, 1896, in Searcy, Mrs. Verdict was a member of the Methodist Church.
 Surviving are her husband, Rufus Henry Verdict of the home; four sons, John H. 
Verdict, Leonard Verdict and Thomas E. Verdict, all of Newport; and Lehman 
Verdict of Flint, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Lorene Davis of Flint, Mich. and 
Mrs. Velma Harris of Wentzville, MO; a sister, Mrs. Ida Run? of Marianna, Ark.; 
a brother, E. Nichols of Aubrey, Ark.; several half-sisters and half-brothers and 
11 grandchildren.
 Funeral services were set for 3 p.m. today at Jackson's Newport Chapel. The Rev. 
Frank Weatherford will officiate, to be assisted the Rev. W. W. Dishongh.  Burial 
will be in the Swifton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melvin Stone, ? Ahart, Leo 
Hill, Billy Har?, Roy Scott and Conway Hall.
