JOHN ANDREW STANLEY

JOHN ANDREW STANLEY was born June 21, 1851 North Carolina and married 
HANNAH JOHNSON March 11, 1871 in Hamilton county, Indiana. Hannah was 
born 1853 Indiana. Their children: EARL, ARTHUR, ARA, ZENO, LOU ELLA. 
The Stanley family traveled from Indiana to Emporia Kansas in 1880. 
The water was bad and Hannah got sick and they lost two children in 
1880 from Diptheria. John then took his family and left for Arkansas 
where the water was spring fed. They arrived in Benton county, 
Arkansas where Hannah died March 10, 1885. John then married VIRGINIA 
LEE INGRAM July 9, 1885 and had three more children: LUTHERA GRACE, 
ETTA ESTELLE, and JAMES ROY STANLEY. John then died April 8, 1895 near 
Rogers and Virginia Lee marr ROBERT EDMUND SMITH. She then had HANNAH 
RUTELIA b. 1886 who died later. John, Virginia, Hannah, Robert, Hannah 
Rutelia are all buried in the STANLEY-OAKS CEMETERY outside of Rogers 
on the Pleasant Grove Road along with some of Virginia's family. JOHN 
ANDREW STANLEY was the son of ELI EDMUND STANLEY b. 1818 NC and RACHEL 
? They were members of the Quaker faith at New Garden MM, in Guilford 
county, NC. Eli and Rachel had 4 children: MARY J. b. 1845, SARAH b. 
1846, PLEASANT b. 1848, and JOHN ANDREW b. 1851 in NC. Rachel died and 
Eli married HANNAH BALDWIN "out of unity" and were disowned by the 
church in 1852 and moved to Hamilton county, Indiana and had 2 more 
children: EMBREE b. 1857, and MARTHA b. 1858 Indiana. Eli is found in 
the underground railroad records in Jefferson county, Indiana helping 
to free the slaves. John's children married in Hamilton county, 
Indiana. MARY J. married June 1, 1872 to JESSE BOND. EMBREE A. married 
FRANCES A. LOWREY Oct. 2, 1879; SARAH ANN marr JAMES WESLEY SAPP July 
2, 1870; MARTHA S. marr Nov 6, 1881 to WILLIAM F. STEWARD; ARA E. marr 
a FLORENCE T. ?; ZENO married Annie; LOU ELLA marr EDWARD LEWIS FOWLER 
and lived in Benton county, Arkansas until he died in 1933. LUTHERA 
GRACE marr ARTHUR SECORE; ETTA ESTELLE marr EDWARD DOLISI, and JAMES 
ROY marr DAISY INGERSOL and lived near Spingdale, Ark. The school in 
Billie Jines book "The schools that were lists the STANLEY SCHOOL on 
land donated by the Secre family. Those attending were the LEAK, 
STANLEY, SIGMON families.  It was located near Roges.  The Stanley 
family were all Quakers from NC. Eli Stanley remained true to his 
faith, even though he could not attend the Quaker church. He died in 
Westfield, Indiana.  VIRGINIA LEE INGRAM was the daughter of REV. 
JAMES INGRAM who was bushwached in Arkansas.. Her mother was SARAH 
ELIZABETH EASLEY. All from Tennessee. They are also related to the 
AUTRY, COX, NAIL, GRAHAM families in the Washington and Benton county 
History books. LOU ELLA STANLEY was my gt grandmother and after the 
death of her husband seh moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where they are both 
buried. All of the Fowler's in this area are my relatives and I have 
given my family history to the Oklahoma  Historical Society and they 
are in the book "THE FIRST FAMILIES OF THE TWIN territories".  Edward 
Fowler and Lou Ella Stanley had 2 children born in Ark, my 
grandmother, HANNAH ESTELLE FOWLER who marr BENJAMIN FRANKLIN DUTCHER. 
She was born in 1890 near Rogers as was her brother OBED FRANKLIN. The 
other 10 children were born before Oklahoma became a State in 1907.  
EDWARD FOWLER'S father was LEWIS FOWLER b. 1847 Indiana who married  
in 1866 to CHLOE ESTER RENFRO dau of Rev. JOSEPH CHESLEY RENFRO and 
ELIZABETH SCOTT. They lived in Madison County, Arkansas.  The sister 
of CHLOE was MARTHA ALICE RENFRO who married JOHN CHESSLEY BOATRIGHT, 
son of JAMES HUGHES BOATRIGHT. This is the large Boatright family in 
Arkansas. Lewis and Chloe Fowler also had one other son, JOSEPH 
CHESSLEY FOWLER who married THURSEY MALINDA KERR dau of WILLIAM 
HARRISON KERR of Missouri.  JOSPEH AND THURSEY lived near Tahlequah, 
Oklahoma after the death of their father in 1880 in Washington county, 
Ark.  Lewis Fowler's will was probated in 1878 in Washington county. 
Chloe then married JOHN B. JONES and had 4 children. She was a school 
teacher and ran a boarding house in Arkansas.
