LAWRENCE KNIGHT

  Funeral services for Lawrence Knight, 86, of Mer Rouge, La. were held
Tuesday, June 3, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with the Rev.
Ron Vollmer officiating.  Burial was at Flat Creek Cemetery.
  Mr. Knight died Monday, June 2, at Oak Wood Home for the Elderly in Mer
Rouge, La.
  A native of Ashley County, he was a resident of Mer Rouge for the past 30
years and a former resident of Hamburg, where he had been owner and operator
of Knight's Cleaners.  He was a member of Mer Rouge Baptist Church, a Gideon
and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
  Survivors include three brothers, Floyd Knight of Bastrop, La., Glenn
Knight of Little Rock and Norwood Knight of Perryville; three sisters, May
Delle Irving, Annie Holland and Erla Garrett, all of Bastrop; and several
nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Phillips Knight; and a
brother, Rudolph Knight.
  Pallbearers were Elva Greer, John Risher, charles Sisk, Bill and Phillip
McCready and Gale Garrett.
  Honorary pallbearers were T. J. Parker and the Gideons of the Bastrop Camp.
