	To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:
Whereas Jesse Borden of Lawrence County Alabama has deposited in the GENERAL
LAND OFFICE of the United States, a Certificate of THE  REGISTER OF THE LAND
OFFICE at Huntsville whereby it appears that full payment has been made by 
the said Jesse Borden according to the provisions of the Act of congress of 
the 24th of April, 1820, entitled "An act making further provision for the 
sale of Public Lands," for the north west quarter of the north west quarter 
of section two in township eight of range eight west in the District of 
Lands subject to sale at Huntsville Alabama containing forty acres and 
thirty one hundredths of an acre.

According to the official plat of the Survey of the said Lands, returned to 
the General Land Office by the SURVEYOR GENERAL, which said tract has been 
purchased by the said Jesse Borden

NOW KNOW YE, That the United States of America, in consideration of the 
premises, and in conformity with the several acts of the Congress in such 
case made and provided, HAVE GIVEN AND GRANTED, and by these presents DO 
GIVE AND GRANT, unto the said Jesse Borden and to his heirs, the said tract 
of land described above: To have and to hold the same, together with all 
the rights, privileges, immunities, and appurtenances, of whatsoever nature,
thereunto belonging, unto the said Jesse Borden and to his heirs and assigns
forever.

In Testimony Whereof, I, Andrew Jackson PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF 
AMERICA, have caused these Letters to be made PATENTS, and the SEAL of the 
GENERAL LAND OFFICE to be hereunto affixed.

GIVEN under my hand, at the City of Washington, the Sixteenth day of 
October  In the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five 
of the Independence of the United States the sixtieth

No. 29717 Land Office at Huntsville AL Jan 12, 1859 It is hereby certified, 
that, in pursuance of Law, Jesse L. Borden of Lawrence County State of 
Alabama on this day purchased of the Register of this Office, the Lor or SW 
1/4 (Sec 2) and NW 1/4 of NE 1/4 (Sec 11) of Section 2 & 11 in Township No. 
Eight (8) of Range No. Eight (8) west containing eighty and 57/hundredths 
acres at the rate of 12 1/2 cents per acre amounting to ten dollars and 
seven cents for which the said Jesse L. Borden has made payment in full as 
required by law. Now, therefore be it known, that on presentation of this 
certificate to the COMMISSIONER OF THE GENERAL LAND OFFICE, the said Jesse 
L. Borden shall be entitled to receive a Patent for the Lot above described.

Received from Jesse L. Borden of Lawrence County Alabama the sum of Ten 
dollars and seven cents; being in full for the SW 1/4 of SE 1/4 Section 2 
and NW 1/4 of NW Section 11 of Section No. 2 and 11 in Township No. 8 of 
Range 8West containing 80 acres and 57/hundredths at 12 1/2 cents per acre.

Letter of Jesse L. Borden


I Jesse L. Borden of Lawrence County State of Alabama aged 50 years being 
desirous of entering the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 2 and the NW 1/4 
of the NE 1/4 of Section 11 all in township 8 of range 8 west under the act 
entitled an ad to graduation______ the price of public lands to actual 
settlers and cultivators approved 4 August 1854 do solemnly swear that I 
enter the land for the use of  said adjoining farm owned by me _______in 
the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/2 section NO. 2 and NW 1/4 of NE 1/4 of southwest 
all in Township 8 of Range 8 west about 25 acres in cultivation and together 
with the entry made _______I have not acquired from the United States under 
the  ____ of lands ____________more than ______________according to the 
return of the Surveys. I further testify that said land is not now in the 
occupancy of ______________further if there should been actual settlers 
residing upon such land at the date of my entry of the same I hereby 
relinquish all claim.

aforesaid Jesse L. Borden to well known as the person described on and who 
has agreed the foregoing affidavit who being duly sworn deposes and says 
that the statement contained in said affidavit are correct and true.  D. L.

of Said Court, certify that David L. Dinsmore whose name appears on the 
foregoing affidavit is an acting Justice of the Peace within and for said 
county duly commissioned and qualified that full faith and _____ is due and 
ought to be given all his official acts as such and the signature purporting
to be his is genuine.
Given under my had and the official Seal of the Probate court at Office in 
Moulton the 11 day of January 1859 and the 83rd year of American 
Independence
