Old Derrick Cemetery, Jackson County

From Scottsboro, take HWY. 35 to Woodville. Turn left at the caution light onto
County Road 8. Go less than a 1/2 mile down County Road 8 until you reach the first
curve on this road. The Cemetery is located on the left side of the road, in the bend
of the curve. The Cemetery is not very visable from the road, so use caution
when driving. The road to the Cemetery is used for farming, so it just resembles a
driveway leading to a field. Once you pull into the driveway, the Cemetery is to the
right, ontop of a small hill. This Cemetery is now being cleaned up and is looking a
lot better. There has been two markers put up by Decendants of the Derrick family.
Henry Derrick and his family were the first to settle Woodville, according
to "The History of Woodville".

This Cemetery was trancribed by Stephanie Bremer on October 30, 2001
