MERRILL REUNION

For several years, the children of Mrs. Lena Merrill of Micaville have gathered
at the old home on the third Sunday in October to celebrate her birthday, which
was in October. Since the reunion in 1940, she has gone to help brighten
Heaven, but the children decided to have the "get-together" in her memory, and
on October 19th, all the family met as before.

There was a sadness in coming without the parents that had brought joy to the
former meetings, but we were thankful for all the radiant memories. Instead of
gifts, flowers were brought, and all went in a group to the cemetery and
placed them on the graves of mother and father, and attended church. After the
service, a picnic lunch was spread under the trees in the yard. Pictures were
taken of the table and the family. All could feel the presence and blessing of
the loved ones we honored.

The afternoon was spent in reminiscing and making plans for the future. It was
decided to make the event an annual affair. All agreed that we had much to be
thankful for and rejoiced that mother's influence continued to help them.
Those present:

Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Traylor and daughter Ruth of Newell
Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Traylor, Horace and Lena Ann of Carrollton, Ga.
Mr. and Mrs. Emory Merrill, Tom L., Carl, Harold HOrace and Doris Sue of Heflin
