Sim Allen Kilgore, age 81, of Union Hill community, passed away at his home in 
the Union Hill community on Monday, July 4. He had been ill for six weeks. 
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 5, from Mt. Gilead Methodist Church 
in Clay County at 2 p.m. with Rev. Carmack officiating. Interment was in the 
churchyard cemetery with Johnson Sanders Funeral Home in charge. A member of Mt. 
Gilead Methodist Church, the deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lola 
Estes, Union Hill; Mrs. J. C. Pinkston, Millersville, Mrs. Roy Estes, Lanett; 
Mrs. James Alford, Alexander City; three sons, Crayton Kilgore, Daviston; Royal 
Kilgore, Alexander City; Dranton Kilgore, Union Hill; two brothers, W. I. 
Kilgore, Alexander City; Ben Kilgore, Plant City, three sisters, Mrs. Viola 
Williams, Wadley; Mrs. Ozie Knight, Alexander City; 15 grandchildren and 10 
great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons.
