Jessie M. Hamil, age 77, of Cusseta, passed away at his home Tuesday, December 
3, following an illness of two years. He was a resident of Langdale for a number 
of years, moving to Cusseta about a month ago. He was a retired worker in the 
Langdale Mill. Funeral services were held from the Mellow Valley Baptist Church 
today, December 4, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clyde L. Allen, pastor Langdale Baptist 
Church and Rev. H. H. Goodman officiating. Interment was in the McDaniel Chapel 
cemetery with Johnson Sanders Funeral Home in charge. Surviving are the widow; 
three sons, Collis, Cusseta; Jessie Goodwater; Hugo, River View; four daughters, 
Mrs. Roy Hill, Langdale; Mrs. Eugene McClain, Opelika; Mrs. Watson Pitts and 
Mrs. Ralph Warner, West Point; one sister, Mrs. J. J. Duncan, Ashland. 
Pallbearers were Roy Hill, Clark and Charlie Hill; James Ellis Toland, James 
Hamil, Ralph Hamil.
