Former Resident Died Satruday
   WEEDVILLE - A funeral service took place in Port Allegany for Ralph Smith 
of Eldred, a native of Gardner Hill, who died Saturday, February 7, in the 
Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, following a brief illness.
   Officiating was the Rev. William Glover of DuBois and the Rev. James 
Danielson of Eldred.  Burial followed in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
   Mr. Smith was a brother of Charles and Lloyd Smith of Penfield and Harry 
Smith of Weedville.  He was the father of Mrs. Janet Beck, also of Weedville.  
He died at the age of 74.
   Born May 7, 1905, in Gardner Hill Weedville, he was a son of the late 
Edward and Emma Yale Smith.  He married the former Bessie Kunselman in 
Bradford on May 27, 1926.  She survives.
   Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son, Robert F. Smith of Eldred; 
two daughters, Mrs. Kay Walker of Port Allegany and Mrs. Janet Beck of 
Weedville; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four brothers, 
Charles Smith and Lloyd Smith, both of Penfield; Harry Smith of Weedville and 
Russell Smith of Texas City, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy McCracken of 
Bradford, Dora Smith of Weedville and Mrs. Gladys Beldin of Sterling Run and 
several nieces and nephews.
