Lloyd “Bud” Smith Sr.
   PENFIELD - Lloyd P. “Bud” Smith Sr., 66, of Penfield, died Tuesday at 
DuBois Regional Medical Center East, following a lengthy illness.
   He was born March 8, 1920, in Weedville, the son of Edward and Emma (Yale) 
Smith.  He was married to Florence Iva (Bundy) Smith.
   Mr. Smith was Protestant by faith and was a lifelong of the Penfield area.  
He was a veteran of World War II and was a retired coal miner.  He was a 
member of the Penfield Firemen, Bennetts Valley American Legion, Bennetts 
Valley Rod and Gun Club, United Mine Workers of America, and was n avid hunter 
and active with the Bennetts Valley Ambulance Service for many years.
   Survivors include his wife; a son, Lloyd P. Smith Jr. Of Penfield; two 
daughters, Mrs, Robert (Norma) Whelpley and Mrs. Craig (Barbara) Plaszenski of 
Penfield; three brothers, Russell Smith of Texas City, Texas; Charles Smith of 
Penfield, Harry Smith of Weedville; three sisters, Dorothy McCracken of 
Bradford, Dora Smith of Weedville, Mrs. Charles (Gladys) Beldin of Driftwood; 
16 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
