MARGARET SMITH

Of 4559 Vista St., Philadelphia, formerly of Altoona, died unexpectedly 
Thursday, Dec. 29, 1977, in her home.  Mrs. Smith had been employed by Bell 
Telephone in Altoona for a number of years.  She was born Sept. 19, 1910, in 
Altoona, a daughter of Edward F. and Elizabeth (Dillon) Flanagan, and married 
George Smith on May 20, 1937, in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Mr. 
Smith died in February 1969.  Surviving are three children, George Jr., and 
James, at home, and Mrs. Joan Kurtz, in New Jersey; two grandchildren, and 
two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Geraldine Behe, Mrs. Adelaide Scherzinger and 
Edward of Altoona.  Mrs. Smith was a member of the senior citizens and an 
active worker for the Democratic party in the Philadelphia area.  Friends 
will be received in the Walter Myers Funeral Home, Torresdale, from 7 to 10 
p.m. Monday.
