FRANK SMITH

Well known resident of Tyrone, died at his home, 1205 Lincoln avenue, Friday 
evening at 5 o'clock, death being attributed to a stroke suffered on Thursday.  
He was a son of Isaac and Fannie (McCorkle) Smith and was born in Clearfield 
county on Dec. 20, 1870.  In 1903 he was united in marriage with Ora Holt, who 
died in November, 1927.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clayton Gates of Fort 
Bellvoir, Va., and Miss Bettie Holt Smith, at home; one sister, Alta Smith of 
LeContes Mills, and these brothers: Paul and Harry Smith of LeContes Mills, 
Orris and Bowman Smith of Clearfield and Ralph Smith of Tyrone.  Mr. Smith was 
prominently identified with the lumber business and had been a resident of 
Tyrone since 1921.  Funeral services will be conducted at the Graham funeral 
home in Tyrone Monday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock in charge of Rev. J. Resler 
Shultz, pastor of the First Methodist church.  Interment will be made in the 
Gillingham cemetery at Clearfield.
