EVELYN M. SMITH 

  Mrs. Evelyn M. Smith, 73, of 500 Garfield St., Tyrone, PA, died at 
5:20 p.m., Wed., Feb. 9, 2005 at the Tyrone Hospital.
  She was born Feb. 18, 1931 at Irvona, a daughter of George Samuel and 
Edith M. (Mooney) Brink.
  She was married March 11, 1950 to Robert E. Smith, Sr., who died 
March 26, 1983.
  She is survived by four children: Robert E. Smith, Jr. and his wife 
Sally, Jackie Rhoades, Debbie Savino and her husband Ray, all of Tyrone 
and Bradley Smith and his wife Susan of Ovieda, FL.
  Mrs. Smith is also survived by seven grandchildren: Amanda Smith, 
Ashley Smith, Christopher Rhoades, Richard Rhoades, Chantel Plummer, 
Emily Smith, Jake Smith and three great grandchildren.
  A sister, Norma Deckert of Mechanicsburg.
  She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Meredith and brothers 
Benjamin and Robert Brink.
  She was a member of the Tyrone Church of the Good Shepherd. A 
graduate of the Coalport-Irvona High School in 1949. She received an 
Associate Degree from Penn State University in 1992 in Arts, Letters 
and Sciences and was proud to receive her Bachelor's Degree from Penn 
State University in 1998.
  She was a member of the Tyrone Round Table Club; a member and Past 
President of the Tyrone Grandview Cemetery Assn. Board; a member of the 
Golden Key Nat'l Honor Society; member of PHI-KAPPA-PHI Honor Society.
  She retired in 1991 as a supervisor at the Department of Public 
Welfare Blair Co. Board of Assistance after 16 1/2 years of service.
  There will be no viewing or visitation and a memorial service notice 
will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the Derman 
Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone.
