               BIRTH AND DEATH RECORDS

Probate court has the birth and death records for 1867 to Dec. 20, 1908.  A
certified copy of a birth or death record is $5.00.  A copy of the record not
certified is $1.00.

Prior to 1867 there are no birth or death records for the county.

Birth and Death Records for Dec. 21, 1908 and After are at the Sandusky County
Board of Health, 2000 Countryside Dr., Fremont, OH  43420, (419) 334 - 6377.

               ESTATES, GUARDIANSHIP AND TRUST FILES

Case files # 22280 to present are in Probate Court, 1st floor, Court House
Building.

Case files # 4451 - 22279 are in the Probate Court attic storeroom.  Please
stop in Probate Court for directions to the storeroom.

Court costs for copies of estate, guardianship and trust papers are $1.00 per
page (side).  There is and additional charge of $1.00 to certify a copy.

               MARRIAGE RECORDS

Probate Court has marriage records for 1820 to present for licenses obtained in
Sandusky County, Ohio.  The marriage records are indexed under the man's name
only until approximately 1900.  A certified copy of marriage record is $2.00. 
A copy of the record not certified is $1.00.

               OBTAINING PROBATE RECORDS BY MAIL

Send letter of request, with names of individual(s), type of information
requested and date.  Include a check, payable to Probate Court, and a self
addressed stamped envelope.  If we do not have the record requested your check
will be returned to you.
