MILTON O. SMITH

Milton Oliver Smith, well-known farmer of Libertytown, died Saturday afternoon at
12:40 o’clock at his home after an illness of five years.  Death was due to 
Bright’s disease.  He was 74 years of age.  Mr. Smith was a life-long resident of 
Frederick county, being engaged in farming all his life.  He was married twice 
and is survived by eleven children.  His first wife was Miss Mary Louise Forman, 
Unionville.  The following children survive:  Mrs. Vernon Beard, Thurmont; Aubrey 
O. Smith, Mrs. Stella Potts, Miss C. Pearl Smith, all of Frederick; Mrs. Wm. K. 
Smith, Mt. Pleasant; Ralph Smith, York, Pa.  His second wife was Miss Clara Alice 
Renner, New Midway, and the following children from this union survive:  C. 
Russell Smith, Wilbur B. Smith, J. Alton Smith, Norman C. Smith, at home and Mrs. 
Charles R. Lease, Oak Orchard.  The following brothers and sisters also survive:  
Mrs. Jacob Hoffman, Keymar; Mrs. Ida Houff, Frederick; Mrs. P.A. Strine, Mrs. Wm. 
Horner, J. Albert Smith, LeGore; Vernon C. Smith, Mt. Airy; John A. Smith, 
Unionville.  There are twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Mr. 
Smith was a member of the P.O.S. of A., Camp, No. 44, Woodsboro.  He was also a 
member of the Lutheran church, Rocky Hill.  Funeral will be held Tuesday morning 
leaving the house at 10 o’clock with final services in the Rocky Hill Lutheran 
church.  Burial in adjoining cemetery.  Powell and Albaugh, funeral directors.
