    Directions: From Garland travel east on Kane Road SR 3014 1.1 miles and just around the right angle corner and just beyond the farm buildings on the right. This cemetery contains the OLDEST TOMBSTONES in the county, dating back to 1813. Records show that at least eight Revolutionary Soldiers are buried here, five of whom have tombstones. This cemetery is so historically important that it should by all means be preserved.

Brown, Robert R., (view 2), Son of John and Jane Brown, died 22 Sept 1841, aged 4 years, 10 months and 25 days. John Brown was born in Westmoreland County in 1784. He died in 1871. Said to have been the last surviving member of the War of 1812 in Youngsville. His wife was Jane McCray. Other children were: George W. Brown, Anne Mary Brown (who married Arthur McKinney of Youngsville)., (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Crippen, Mary Ellen, daughter of J.W. & Betsey Crippen died 20 June 1853, aged 3 years and 18 days., (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Graham, Hellen,  (view 2 , 3), died 14 Aug 1847, aged eight years, one month and 24 days. She was the daughter of Samuel M. Graham and Margaret Long, his wife. Samuel M. Graham, son of Samuel was born 09 Mar 1805 in that part of Lycombing County, Pa., which is now Clinton Co. He died 13 Apr 1884. His wife Margaret was the daughter of George & Isabella (McCormick) Long, born at Garland on 23 July 1810. Their children: Hellen, born 20 Jan 1838, Herman, born 24 Dec 1839, died 08 Dec 1842, John W., born 06 June 1847 - drowned in the Susquehanna 24 Aug 1869. "Gone where angels dwell and shine And golden reaths their crowns entwine." Big monument says born 20 June 1838, (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Hosmer, Mary, daughter of Stephen & Mary Hosmer died 04 Sept 1845, aged 15. Census of 1850 - Stephen Hosmer aged 58 born Mass. Stephen Hosmer Jr., aged 23, born PA., Jane Hosmer, aged 13, Nancy Hosmer, aged 16., (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Hosmer, William S., died 28 June 1846, aged 21 years, 10 months and 13 days. "A blooming youth, a lovely flower Cut down and withered in an hour.", (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Jones, Edward S., (view 2), son of J. P. Jones, died 06 July 1852, aged 11 years, 7 months and 9 days, (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Long, Daniel, born March 1814, died July 1839. "Dear Brother thou hast left us. Cut down in a day God's will is so---???", (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Long, David, born March 1799, died March 1826. War of 1812. "Thre is rest for the weary. Give God the praise for evermore.", (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Long, Eleanor Gray, wife of Hugh Long, born 16 Nov 1806, died 9 Sept 1847, aged 41 years, 9 months and 24 days. "Dearest mother, thou hast left us. Here thy loss we deeply feel. But tis God that hath bereft us. He can all our sorrows heal. ", (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Long, George, (view 2), Soldier of the Revolution. Native of Virginia. Was at the taking of Cornwallis Died at Pittsfield, PA 11 Mar 1854 in his 95th year. This verse, no longer legible, was copied by Mrs. Cowan in 1923. "Depart my friends, dry up your tears For I lie here 'till Christ appears." Children of George and Isabella Long: John Long, b. 1794, died 1879; Hugh Long, born 02 Feb 1802 in Spring Creek, Warren County, Pa.; Margaret Long, born Garland, 23 July 1810, married Samuel M. Graham 28 June 1837; Cookson Long, born 1803, went to Michigan; William Long, born 1805; Daniel Long, born 1814., (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Long, Hugh, (view 2 , 3), born 02 Feb 1802, died 01 Aug 1891. He was a son of George Long, a Soldier of the Revolution, buried in this cemetery, and of his wife Isabel McCormick. Hugh is said to have been the first white child born in Spring Creek. Hugh and Eleanor (Gray) Long had six children; Harriett Long; William W. Long, aged 19 census of 1850; Daniel A. Long, aged 17 census of 1850; Laura Long, aged 13 census of 1850; Cordelia C. Long, aged 9 census of 1850., (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Long, William, died 26 Aug 1869, aged 65 years, 5 months and 6 days. "Brother - Gone the unpointed way to his rest. From sorrow free and every care.", (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Mandaville, Janet, daughter of Peter & Betsey Mandaville, died 20 Sept 1842, aged 1 year, 3 months and 11 days. Note: Peter was son of Francis Mandaville. Betsey was daughter of William and Lucy (Miles) White. Peter & Betsey (White) Mandaville had the following children: Janet Mandaville; William Francis Mandaville, married to Mary E. Green and had Anna who married Ed. Goss; Bessie; Charles; Annette Mandaville, called Nettie, married a Mr. Bliss; James Mandaville, born 1845; Katie Mandaville, wed Hiram Wolford and had seven children; Robert Mandaville, born 1853 married Ella Merrill with three children; Perry Mandaville, born 1861, wed Mattie Smith; Mary Mandaville, born 1861, married Quincy Pratt; John Mandaville, unmarried., (contributed by Laura M. McGuire, Hugh, Soldier of 1812, died 03 June 1855, aged 61 years, 8 months. Census of 1850: Hugh McGuire, age 57, born PA; Jane McGuire, age 57, born PA; James McGuire, age 22; Polly McGuire, age 19; Betsey Ann McGuire age 14; Irvine McGuire, age 6. Schenck's Hist. of Warren Co., says: two sons, James I and H. I.; three daughters, Mrs. W. E. Stright; Mrs. Polly Langley and Mrs. John Wilson., (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Miles, Solomon, (view 2), Soldier of the Revolution. 1764 - 1862. Solomon was born in Natick, Mass. 13 Oct 1764, son of Solomon and Elizabeth Miles. He married (1) Lydia Chubb in Sturbridge, Mass. and had Lemuel and Ephraim. Ephraim born 1795. He married (2) Lucy Chickering at Western Mass. and had Lois and Lucy, twins born Western Mass. 28 Nov 1797, and Lydia, who died in childhood. He married (3) Betsey Crane and had, Sophia, Eveline, Calvin William, Joseph and Delilah. He came to Warren County in 1814. Died at the home of a grandson, Solomon Giles White, in Nov, 1862. , (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

Walkley, Martha J., (view 2), wife of G. A. Walkley, died 31 Oct 1855, aged 21 years and 8 months. "So softly she fell asleep, so peaceful that it seemed a sin to weep; while on her marble brow so pure and fair death's seal could set so fearful impress. But oh how hard to part. ?...all the murmurings of the stricken heart...remainder illegible., (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)

White, Lois Miles, wife of Samuel. Note: Stone is not now legible as it lay face up for years. She was Lois Miles, one of the twin daughters of Solomon and Lucy (Chickering) Miles and was wife of Samuel White. She was born 28 Nov 1797 in Western, now called Warren, Mass., and died in Garland in 1878. She married Samuel 10 Apr 1816, (contributed by Laura M. Brainard)
