but when it is considered that the whole country was in the same condition it is more remarkable that the town of DuBois forged itself to the front with its methods of communication with the outside world. The mail service outside of the connection with Clearfield was remarkably good and it must be remembered that the period mentioned was what we would now call the "economic period" in which people were very careful of the amount of money they spent.
