Rachel's brother David Sellers married Mary Coleman Pennock, daughter of Abraham Pennock, the abolitionist. When Rachel Coleman Sellers and William Garrett lived on Garrett Road in Upper Darby, Pa. at Thornfield, their home was a Station on the UGRR, as William's uncle was Thomas Garrett in Wilmington, Delaware. The marriages between the Garrett, Sellers, and Pennock families strengthen the cause of freedom on the UGRR. Thornfield has an Historical Marker |
