Marena School, Marena, Payne Co., Oklahoma
My 90 year old father has identified this as a picture of his mother Stella Tolliver's high school class in Marena, Oklahoma. Stella was born in 1888 and according to my father graduated at the age of 15, suggesting that this picture was taken around 1903.
Everyone in the photo was identified on the back of the picture as follows: Left to right seated: Telassie Wells, Ray Hatcher, Sylvia Fairchilds, Clare Hamilton Standing: Teacher Maime Houston, Maud Darby, Ada Witterman, Stella Tolliver, Anna Maloy, Julia Wolf, Nana Robisan, Perna Wells.
