Harper County  - Pleasant Ridge Cemetery





Location:  Approximately 2 miles east of Rosston on Highway 64 and about 

4 ½ miles north or about 11 miles straight north of Laverne, Oklahoma 

in Harper County, Oklahoma.



I am told that this is the cemetery for the Rosston community.



Recorded and pictures taken in September, 2002 by Nareen Lake.

(1)  Mr. Lester Lareau told me that the cross in the northwest corner of the 

cemetery marks the graves of Bob and Betty Howard who lived on the property next 

to Lester's parents,  Edward and Myrtle Lareau.  Lester put up the cross marking 

their graves.



A very sharp 92 years old, Lester is the caretaker of the cemetery.  He lives on 

his parent's homestead, about a mile east of Rosston on Highway 64.  	



(2)  Albert and Margaret Kinney were the twin uncle and aunt of Mrs. Margaret 

Widmeyer who lives in Laverne.  They were the children of Robert K. Kinney, Jr. 

and his wife Florence who were born in Linn Co., Missouri and moved to the Rosston 

area in the early 1900's.
