I wish to present the transcriptions of Maple Grove Cemetery. This very Well-kept, privately owned cemetery, under the care and control of Cemetery Trustees, which adjoins an older cemetery at the back (known as Old Pioneer Cemetery, that I've transcribed in a separate report). The township maintains land for the older section of this cemetery, and originally donated for use as a cemetery in about 1830 or possibly a little earlier, given the fact that some burials match this date. Maple Grove & the adjoining Pioneer Cemetery are located behind the elementary school and accessed by a paved drive located just west of the school. Access from State Route 37, driveway just east of the Baptist Church and west of the Alexandria Public Library. This cemetery is very old and still in use at this date. As always, I make every effort to read the stones carefully, unfortunately in the older part, weatherization, and both recent & past vandalization has taken a toll on the old fragile stones. I am responsible for the transcriptions herein, with one exception, any information contained within brackets with the * symbol will indicate additional information given to me by the kindness of the person named next to symbol. Any information within brackets without * symbol will be my personal knowledge, observations and /or research, not read directly from stone. Use this information as a tool but don't substitute it for good county or state research. I make every effort to be accurate, but make no warranty of being 100% correct. The following are the transcriptions of the newer part of cemetery. Due to it's size, have divided it into parts. This first section being the area located west of entry gate drive extending from most southerly fence area, and extending north until you reach the general area near the mausoleum. The remaining areas are all under the control and care of Maple Grove Cemetery Trustees. At the beginning of each section, I will attempt to briefly describe it's location with a bearing point to assist anyone visiting and trying to find a specific ancestral loved one. This section pertains to only the burials west of entry gate lane, northward to the mausoleum. 06 Aug., 2000, Revised, through 25 Sept. 2002, Feb., 2007 © Robert M. Sizelove, Sr.
