Carpenter, In Honor of Rev. Gilbert; Sarah, wife of Rev. Gilbert Carpenter, died Feb. 22, 1817, age 71 yrs., by M.C. This stone was erected by a cousin to replace the original stone in memory of Rev. Gilbert Carpenter, founder of Galena, OH. Sarah, is buried in Galena, but his grave has never been located. This marker is on the east side of the second driveway (from the east end of cemetery) as it descends the hill to the creek. |
