The above cemetery overview photos & the images below, have been generously donated by Terry A. Magyar, 05 Oct., 2002
A Baptist church was built here in 1798, which was one of the oldest in the county, it was subsequently abandoned. This cemetery was earlier known as "Old Baptist Cemetery", and the first burial was in 1797.
Recently the Cumberland Trail Genealogical Society, with the assistance of Chuck Bell and Everest Borkoski, removed large trees which had fallen
on the cemetery. A large path was cut through the underbrush to provide access to the burial grounds. Most of the thick overgrowth of weeds has
been cut back. The Society is asking assistance in the form of money or labor, to restore the cemetery.
Some of the surnames still visable on various tombstones are: Bewley, Boggs, Burdett, Pease, Porter, & Woods.
Directions: From I-70, take exit number 215, onto old route 40. Travel west a very short distance and turn south onto Reservoir Rd. (Twp. Rd. 278)
The cemetery is behind the Hidden Valley Outdoors store.
