Leatherwood/Leatherman Cemetery, Brown Township, Ohio.
Text Transcription Of The Cemetery, Including the Photos Listed Below
TRANSCRIBERS NOTES:
(1) This cemetery is listed as inactive and is under township ownership.
(2) Located in Brown Township, Miami County, Ohio.
(3) No plat maps as of 1-Jun-2010 per township trustee.
(4) Cemetery was vandalized and many of the markers were destroyed by 1993.
(5) A church existed next to the cemetery was destroyed by fire as were all interment and lot records. The records were located in the church.
(6) There is a large monument when you enter the cemetery which was placed by the township in 1995 in memory of all those who are interred within the cemetery. The township a fenced the cemetery area in.
(7) Cemetery is located 1/2 mile north of Lena on east side of Lena-Palestine road. Directions taking route 36 east to Lena Palestine road. Take a left and travel 1/2 mile down Lena-Palestine road. Cemetery is on the east side off the road.
(8) resources utilized A. 1984 reading by Brautigam, Mildred J - B township trustee.
(9) This may or may not include all person buried or removed from cemetery. With no known records it was difficult to recreate in 2010.
