A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (today) in Carolina Memorial Gardens, directed by Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Born in Holly Grove, Arkansas, he was the son of Lester Davis and Annie Overton Davis Maroon. Mr. Davis was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Athabelle Sims Davis; daughters, Barbara D. David and Janet D. Hood both of Macedonia, Dorothy D. Smith of Ladson and Joan D. Bolton of Summerville; Betty D. Johnson of Dunlap, Tenn, a sister, Anita M. Reed of Memphis, Tenn; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
