Yongue WILMINGTON, N.C. – The funeral for Mrs. Mabel O. Yongue, formerly of Great Falls, was conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel. The Rev. Therman Allred officiated and burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Yongue died Monday, May 28, 2001, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. A daughter of the late Walter and Martha Funderburke Orr, she was a member of Sunset Park Baptist Church and was the former owner of Hanover Beauty Salon. She was more recently employed with Hair Designers of Wilmington. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Y. Lewis of Leland; two brothers, Wallace Orr of Laurens, S.C. and Gavis Orr of Charlotte; two sisters, Flossie Broome of Great Falls and Helen Bankhead of Blackstock; a granddaughter, Wendy Watson of Leland; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie Yongue, two sisters and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center, 725-A Wellington Ave., Wilmington, N.C. 28401 or to Sunset Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 231 Central Blvd., Wilmington, N.C. 28401.
