Born January 15, 1916, in Mavromiti, Greece, he was a son of the late James and Angela Gordon Katsos. He was co-owner of Central Coffee Shop, a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Columbia, a W.W.II Coast Guard Veteran, a member of St. Peter's Masonic Lodge, Shriner's Omar Temple, Manning Lion's Club, and American Legion Williams-Burgess Post 68. Surviving besides his wife of Manning are a son, James J. Katsos of Purcellville, Va.; a daughter, Angela Kiehling of Charleston; two sisters, Sophie Lambrakos of Alexandria, Va., and Mary Daskal of Fayetteville, N.C.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, in Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Father Aris Metrakos will officiate. Burial will follow in the Manning Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Stephens Funeral Home, Manning, and at other times at the residence, 328 Sunset Drive, Manning. A Trisayion will be held in Stephens Funeral Home Chapel at 6 p.m., Tuesday evening. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, 1931 Sumter St., Columbia, S.C. 29205.
